nofear Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 hi guys i seen i few people that remove the abs system for their starlets and i dont know why? any reason in particular? thanks guys Quote
nofear Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 lol yea is that the reason why then? lol Quote
Azz Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Pretty much yes, it's a driver aid that doesn't exactly aid the driver haha if you want to hit the track or a little spirited drive its a much better feeling without abs so you can brake much later and harder Quote
nofear Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 makes sense lol plus the car get a bit lighter lol thanks mate Quote
morgey Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 yeah my trueno had it and it was coming on way before the limit of the tyres for some reason. not a nice feeling having a computer pump your brakes, could feel the braking decrease as the abs was working :/ Quote
daniel_g Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I removed it from my old GT, braking did have a better feel to it with a really solid pedal. But you cant just stamp on them like a modern car because it just locks up and your arse goes twitch twitch. Leaving it in my current starlet for now until i get some massive brakes. Quote
akyakapotter Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) since i put my braided lines on and new fluid. I haven't felt my abs come in at all used to come in all the time. its a good thing though stops you skidding Edited March 17, 2014 by akyakapotter Quote
nofear Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 yea i might take mine off in the future because i want to turn my glanza into a track car just fun lol Quote
daniel_g Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Upgrade the brakes first, standard size brakes and no ABS isnt the best idea ever haha. Quote
nofear Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 i will do that first i was thinking about buying this kit http://www.id-workz.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_1118_8_9&products_id=1566 do you think is a good kit? Quote
morgey Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 is a good kit no doubt. theres also WMS which work out a bit cheaper and they've set them up to suit starlets master cylinders. they're a trader on the forum also. depends on what you're after tbh Quote
jayc-glanza17 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 wms gets my vote, im running their brake kit (the kit on mine when you collected parcel shelf) abs removal on mine, has made me have a solid pedal, and a far better feel of the brakes. Quote
nofear Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 cool good to know i will see which ones i buy how much are the wms ones? Quote
morgey Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Depends on which kit you go for. Which discs and pads etcI got the 4 pot 275mm x 25mm kit with Ds2500 pads and blank discs with the lines and was around £620 Quote
nofear Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 i was thinking about getting the 6 pot 286 mm kit with ebc bluestuff which comes to 956pounds have to save up lol Quote
Turk Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 All im saying is stay away from ebc pads. They are shite. Ive seen alot of people complain and used them and its shit. Go for forrodos and ull be happy Quote
