People think they are having issues with there lambda.. most of the time they arent. The lambda only effects normal driving like cruising or off/very light boost driving.

If it is giving incorrect redings the car will either over fuel or run lean in that specific part of the map.

Without the lambda you wont get as good mpg (at that part of the map)

At WOT/Boost the ecu doesnt use the lambda to adjust fueling at all. This is where most people have the problem and assume its the lambda because thats what everyone does lol

Nope just means you will run a bit richer map sensor takes over after about 2.5k to 3k there used before cost about £30 from td worth having one though mate.

Can't have one as new downpipe dont have the holes for it either lol

Good read and cheers I was just asking the questions as people thinking they have issues with lambda and for me not to have one at all I was kinda thinking the same there issues ain't lambda related

If you got a wideband you could get the AEM UEGO. It has a 0-1v emulation that you can feed the ecu.. Thats what ill be doing as ill be swapping the narrow band sensor for the wideband as i dont want to mess around fitting it elsewhere..

Fitting wideband in the downpipe was too close according to the manual of mine, it suggested about a metre away.

yeah my lambda isn't at the manifold.. It's just before the cat on the mid pipe. I know for normal gt/glanzas it's on the cat pipe from turbo Edited by richardc9052

A narrow band will tell you if its running rich or lean either side of stoich but it wont tell you how much where as a wide band will.

As above, the narrow band only really come into play in the idle/cruise section of the map as on boost the AFR's are always lower than stoich (well should be)

Without a narrow band the stock ecu just throws alittle more fuel adjustment in
