Dash/clock smd bulbs for GT?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

Who has successfully done a led/smd conversion on there mk2 GT?

The dash bulbs are very dim and I will be fitting nice bright gauges so would be cool to freshen up the the old tired bulbs.

I either want white or green

Are the bulbs green or is there filters in the units?

Could someone also give me the bulbs sizes please and how many in each bit?

Thanks

Pics would be nice also!

Thanks guys

Just get new bulbs. There capless bulbs that pop into the holder. Same bulb as for the parking lights.

Pop it out of the green holder and remove the green rubber piece from over it. Refit as you removed.

Here is mine. Very easy to do and very rewarding

I sooooo need these also. Foggy, do you have to remove the clocks and speedo cable to fit these bulbs?

No real need to get leds. I tried some in mine and it made the dash look cheap.

Yep pop out the clocks and disconnect the speedo cable. Very easy to do.

Easily change the lot in 30 mins. Id say i could prob do it now in less than 10mins

Well i seen how some leds make it look crap due to poor light spready hense looking at the frosted ones

Really tempted by them bulbs because they look standard and give good spread

Speedo cable easy to pop out?

Well I bought some single led white bulbs that are the same shape and size as oem bulbs.

Will put on the green cover and see how they come up tonight

I didnt just buy cheap rubbish so hopefully no damage to the speedo as I have heard it can.
