Mikey Jay
Right, just thought I'd guage interest for a Kent/South East Rolling Road Day.Thinking of a Saturday/Sunday in January or February. The company is Rapid Chariots - http://www.rapidchariots.co.uk/index.htmwho are based near Canterbury, and can provide group sessions for reasonable money The prices are as follows:5-10 cars : £35 per car10+ cars : £30 per carFor this price you get two power runs, and a printout showing both runs.On this printout you will have details of bhp, torque, air/fuel ratio and on turbo cars, it will also show the level of boost.Would anyone be interested? riko666
do it after January 15th and I'll come - I needed to get some Dyno tuning done, suppose I can use this oppurtunity
Mikey Jay
That's fine, thinking it'll be more towards February anyhoos.Do you need actual tuning done rather than just a power reading?
riko666
a little twiddling on the FPR
joe-ep91
Im intrigued. Dont know much bout rolling roads tho
Mikey Jay
Not much to know really, you go on them, and they tell you how powerful your car is (a simple summary)
Sparky
Do it on the Feb 9th meet
Mikey Jay
Was discussing this earlier. As could do the RR session during the afternoon, then all convoy up to Bluewater (as is off the same motorway as Bluewater, so a nice easy trip), have a bite to eat, then participate in the meet. You up for getting your car rolling roaded then Sparky? NightSpirit
Are they a rolling road...old school or dynapak?
Mikey Jay
Not really sure on the difference. Here's their thingymajig:http://www.rapidchariots.co.uk/dyno.htm
StarletRick
ill go after mine is all sexualed up
NightSpirit
ah ok,I guess it's just personal preference, I prefer the dynapack style computer controlled RR to the old water/weight resistance RR where you strap the car down...they always seem to work harder Here's a vid of my old SW20 blowing a coolant hose at 155.3mph on the ChipWizards dyno oop north. Incidentally, the car hit 380hp when the hose blew...arse.
Mikey Jay
Haven't tried either personally, so don't have a preference
JAG
Sounds like fun My cars gna get destroyed by the levinator aswell as everyone else who goes but never the less im up for it
Mikey Jay
Levinator, that's genious Would be interesting to see an n/a Starlet rolling roaded though, as not many guys seem to get theirs done Right, that's potentially 5 or 6 people interested Keep the interest coming, and then I'll get it properly organised
NightSpirit
I'll take on the Levinator
riko666
I'll take on Night's Spirit (giggedy)I prefer the Dynapacks, not that I've used them, but they are reputed to be more accurate in their measurements
Mikey Jay
I'll take on the Levinator You'll completely pwn me
Bourkey
Hmmm. I could be interested i this if my 4EFTE is sorted in time for this. Would be good to check it is running sweet after it's rebuild.I don't want to say definatley because i don't want to let you down but i am interested. I'll give you a more accurate answer nearer the time. P.S. Would be cool as i've never been to a RR before ever.
paul w
I'll take on the Levinator Me too Bring it on mikey boy
Sparky
Im up for going Mikey but I dont think my car will budge the rollers I will just stand and watch
Rich
I could come to this, see what the old rolla mani does for the engine, I'm also thinking about going to the bluewater meet this time, should have it lowered and some wheels on it by then so will be worth coming to the meet and not having to park at say the M&S car park and walking over
Joey
Wow, interest from far afield Think it's logical now to do it on the same day as the Bluewater meet (9th Feb) then the guys from further away get the RR sessions and then a meal and a meet in the evening Do people agree?EDIT: Forgot to sign out of Jo's account, tis actually Mikey Jay here
