Hi does anyone know if you can repair a carbon fiber bonnet. I bought my car a few weeks ago and the bonnet is in bad shape.

Fibre glass up and paint is the only way out or prep with fibre glass primer and then hydro dip two solutions for you bud

I would ;)

You can cut damaged layers and patch it with carbon patches and then sand it down and lacquer it. This will look OK and be smooth, bit it will be easy to tell it's repaired.

Looks like it needs taking back and re lacquering and buffing up. Most decent body shops should be able to advise you on that I would have though.

Be worth keeping an eye out for a carbon scoop too.

i will have a ask around thanks. the scoop does not remove and the guy i bought it off painted it white which was stupid. been looking at getting a varis bonnet though but just got to save up

Ahh that's a huge shame. That will be a lot harder to sort out. Might be worth having it painted and just leave a small corner unpainted just with fresh lacquer exposing the carbon.

Had a mate who had done it on his R5 turbo and it looked sweet as.

i was thinking about painting it instead but then i will lose the carbon effect. may just sell it once i get my new bonnet.... thats if anyone would even buy it ha!
