mr_K
Im having problems with my glanzas idle.when i first start it from cold it idles around 1400rpm and once it warms up the idle stays on 1100rpm.what can be the cause? Ive checked for air leaks and cannot find a leak.Anybody know? Thanks
turbo Grant
Sounds like the idle up valve on the end of the inlet is playing up. As the idle drops when warm so that would suggest the wax stat in the throttle body is working.

mr_K
Ill unplug it and see what happens. its also forged can that be a cause for it? Edited June 26, 2014 by mr_K
JayJ
If your idle control valve is broken, you will get a stable high idle between 1000-1200, because the valve is leaking all the time. Unplugging the connector won't help as the copper thing keeps it shut and solenoid opens it when needed.

JayJ
From Toyota, the price is around 200euros or take a risk and buy a (broken) secondhand one

JayJ
ICV valve on ebay You can take it off and block the hole, but it might be a bit jerky sometimes on low revs thou. At least mine was when I blocked the valve from inside.
