Mad Danny
Hi everyone, I have seen some ep82 and 91 with no dump valve only using wastgate? I used wastgate and dump valve why is some just using the wastgate is it safe?
Ollieh17
Dump valve and wastegates are completely different things. Dump valves let off boost from the turbo when the throttle is closed. Wastegates are located in the turbo or externally. They regulate boost pressure by controlling EXHAUST GASES not POSITIVE BOOST like dump valves. Loads of people block off the dump valve for chatter. This is when air is forced back through the turbo. Most people on here would agree its perfectly fine to do this

mikey4410
Running no dump valve isnt going to ruin or damage anything.but........a dump valve releases the pressurised air between turbo and inlet manifold when the inlets fully closed to stop the compressor on the turbo stalling. A stalling compressor isnt desirable as it means its got to be re-spun which means extra lagg and again thats not desirable.
Gainzy
HKS dumpvalve is the best option in my opinion run them tight on high boost I'm running one on ewg and they sound awesome
