Duduglanza Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is it normal to a univeral throttle body u leak air from one side to another from the small gaps where the shaft is? Quote
5e colin Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 not really there a precission fit on oem throttlebodys so i think its just cheap made ???? Quote
Duduglanza Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 I tought its the only airway for the engine not to choke up... Quote
5e colin Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 are you on about the butterfly shaft ??? or just the bypas passage ?? Quote
starletgt-shady Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Mine did. Was a zisco supplied one but same as universal ones from eBay. Did a leak test on the dyno a leaked badly from both sides of the shaft. Couldn't map the car so took it home and out the standard one back on. Quote
Duduglanza Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 I cannot put the standard back on.. flanges don't match. I have seen a couple of cars using these throttle bodies. I dont know what they have made on them to fix it Quote
Duduglanza Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 I managed to take everything off and checked deeply for leaks.. i tightened all fitting and put everything back on. Now idleing fine... altough the tb leaks a bit from one side to another it didnt effect. To idle it still needs a slightly gap or else it will choke.
