Tayyib
It's been an amazing car until problems arised with the headgasket, which has eventually brought the car to the spec it is now. This is my first build thread I've ever done so please bare with me.Jan 2013 I came from the japworld to the audi scene.Spec:Revo stage one mapForge 007pFront mount intercoolerLowered 25-30mmSince then she's had the following:*DM rifle drilled forged rods*Fully rebuilt APX cylinder head*Audi oil pump*Gates racing timing belt kit*goatze piston rings*Relentless x-pro4 manifold*Relentless decat/downpipe*Pec big end bearings*Elring Headgasket*BGK stage 4 hybrid turbo*Brembo discs, ebc yellow stuff pads & hel braided lines*Polybushed front wishbones*Polybushed dogbone*All Intercooler pipe work replaced with solid piping for better flow and less chances boost leaks.* customised milltek cat-back. Tayyib
With the little brother's R32..which killed the S3 over 110mph.Oversize turbo intake pipe, found about 7 holes in the old one.Old cracked cylinder head,Freshly rebuilt with new valve guides and new valve stem seals, vvt transferred to apx head.As you can see cylinder one was where the head had cracked and caused the headgasket and misfiring issues.Goodies.....She lived again... forabit lol. Tayyib
The day it came back after having the engine rebuild and it decided to snap a coilspringThe resultDrives much firmer bit still feels like shock and spring unlike D2 coilovers lmao.Annddd more goodies...Back to the team @ BGK Tuning as I don't work on audi's.Old vs New comparisonSo because I'd bought the downpipe, I decided to buy the Relentless v4 manifold. Which is the revised version of previous ones, which flows well and has been vigorously tested. Which led me to finding this... Cracked hotside on the turbo.Casually sat under the car whilst the exhaust was modified to fit the downpipe, also had the resonator removed. And finally some of how she currently sits awaiting her new clutch and then mapping @ unicorn motor developments.I went for a stage3 competition clutch, waiting for a single mass flywheel to be delivered. And finally a few pics of the new turbine and housing...That's all for now, need the new clutch in, 500mile bedding in and it will then be sent to Unicorn Motor Developments in Stockport for mapping. Thanks for reading and hopefully she will smoke my brothers glanza in my dreams haha. _shaun_
Looking good what power are you hoping for? Also any reason why U went for forged rods but not pistons?
Aamir
Looking good what power are you hoping for? Also any reason why U went for forged rods but not pistons? It's my older brother Tayyib, his hoping for around 330bhp I think but he still reckons Iddys Glanza will be faster haha! The pistons are forged as standard I think hence why he never bought forged ones. It's the 225 BAM engineAamir
_shaun_
Ahh I had a feeling there would be a sensible reason behind it ha! Not to clued up on the vag side of things other than installing airride ha!
Tayyib
Thanks guys. The standard rods are known for bending anywhere near 300lb/ft torque. The standard bam/amk pistons have been known to run 450ish hp without issues. Also air ride lol, let's not go there that's for people with 1.1 engine who like to go sllooooowww lmao
