Exedy stage 1 clutch???

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm building my glanza v up from stock, I'm not going mental bhp (only going to take it up to 200)

Anyways it's had a new engine, turbo, decat, cusco lsd and now it's clutch time, I don't want a £350 clutch as I want to retain road drivability, so I have a few choices.. Do I go for just a standard NKK or exedy clutch or I have just seen a exedy stage 1 clutch, a lot of people moaning about the stage 1 so I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle, would a standard clutch hold 170-190 bhp or should I go for the stage 1

Any help much appreciated :)

Standard Exedy would be fine for 180 - 190 bhp, how long it would last is another question.

Worth a punt though, I had a local customer running 190 bhp and he bought a stock clutch and he didn't come back with any issues.

Standard exedy will be fine but u must either skim flywheel or get new flywheel.

I skimped and didnt get a new flywheel and ended up going clutch 2 times because of this, clutch slipped even though it was new

Bought a genuine new flywheel and all is amazing

Yes its so important to get it skimmed. I didnt think theres any point but I was totally wrong.

and I didnt want to get it wrong a third time so I purchased a brand new flywheel.

3 pucks are quite harsh engagement.be very aware.

6 pucks are lovely.as soft as a full face
