Hi guys, thought I'd sign up here to get some information to help me in the buying progress.

Just wanted to know how much maintenance costs are on these cars and how much mpg you get on average?

What things to look out for buying on these and the market value of these cars?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome.

Any more info to what you looking to buy? Starlets comes in a few forms of trim.

You have the starlet SR thats a 1.3 n/a

Or the starlet GT turbo thats a 1.3 turbo

Theres also the starlet ep80 4x4 I think thats a n/a but mpg figures will be diffrent.

Then you got the glanzas again either a 1.3 n/a or turbo

There are loads of helpfull people here

Hi guys looking for a starlet glanza v, don't seem to see many on autotrader or pistonheads.

What power do these come with standard and how much is the road tax per year?

Just a bit curious to see if I can afford this car with a part time wage, have a mini cooper just now and was thinking of going for a cooper s but my brother told me to go for one of these.

Thanks.

Hey buddy,

Standard power is a little over 130, but all depends on the condition, as that was a while ago now aha. Think the tax is about £145 for 12 months of the top of my head...

They are generally quite cheap to run, I guess it all depends on the condition and modifications, as all will vary..

Hi, thanks for all the reply guys.

One of the main issues I have is the engine blowing up, from what I've seen in the readers ride section a lot of people have had their engines rebuilt due to failure, is this due to too much pressure from the turbo or the engine can't handle mass power?

Another issue is the turbo going as well.

I'm a student with a part time job so can't really afford to buy a glanza then the engine blowing up in the future.

Thanks.
