Cambelt timing

Recommended Posts

Right my engine wont start its cranking too slow, now i was told too check the timing. Looked at the timing and top 4e mark on camshaft pulley is lined up with hole on the head and crank pulley is lined up with 0, looking at diagrams this is correct but im being told by other people that it should be on the 10 mark, which is correct and which isnt???!!!

I set mine to the 0 mark when doing mine.

If it's cranking slowly this would usually suggest the battery is going flat.

I assume all the intake pipes are clear, you have plenty of fuel getting into cylinders and you have a spark.

Have you tried turning it over by hand to make sure it's nice and free to turn over?
