Fealscott Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 hi ive a 98 glanza and today i fitted a stainless manifold, decat and a hks actuator set at 0.8bar.taking the car for a drive it wont boost atall the guage stays in the vaccum and no boost lights on dash.doesnt feel like the turbo is gone though as it pulls okay to start off then just wont boost atall.so i refitted the old actuator and still the same problem!ive no boost leaks or vac leaks as ive checked over everything,i rotated the turbo up and down when fitting the manifold to get access to the turbo bolts betterand was wondering if this is the problem as ive moved it up and down and the car gets better and worse but still wont boost.any help appreciated Quote
parker85 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Check the intercooler pipes buddy one of my front mount pipes popped off before and lost boost completely . Quote
Fealscott Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 yeah ive checked them all there all tight and all vac lines are on its doin my head in haha Quote
parker85 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Ru running a top mount yeah thats def a weird one if it wont boost at all did u check vac pipes or intercooler pipes for splits in them . Quote
Ryan_EP82 GT Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Did you put the split pin back onto the wastegate arm by any chance? If it isn't it wont be able to build boost. Quote
patman Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Also how do you know it's set to 0.8bar with the actuator? How many times have you screwed the end of the actuator in? Quote
Gainzy Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Check to see you have plumbed all the pipes in the right ways if it was fine before you may have the pipes in the wrong place.. Quote
Fealscott Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 I've measured the actuator its 123mm which is supposed to be 0.8 bar, however I've changed back to the stock actuator and still the same problem, actuator is definetly connected to wastegate penny but I'm going to take the decat off again make sure the penny is okay. Other than that I've redone all the vac lines from turbo and dump valve in the right order and it just doesn't boost. When you Rev the car the dump valve spring moves but no noise from it atall even high revs Quote
Fealscott Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) It's like the penny isn't shut properly so it won't build boost but the flap outside the turbo where the actuator attatched points straight up Edited November 11, 2014 by Fealscott Quote
Ryan_EP82 GT Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Least you found out mate! Will the penny not close at all? With arm detached Quote
patman Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Shouldn't the flap outside go slightly to the left not straight up when shut? Quote
Fealscott Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Least you found out mate! Will the penny not close at all? With arm detachedNo this wasn't the problem, I found the problem last night when I took the decat off and had a look some of the instant gasket i used to seal my cheap manifold had got into the blades of the turbo and it was stuck solid 🙈 freed it off and cleaned it all up now works spot on as it should with the hks actuator 👍 Quote
