I'm dropping my engine in this week, wanted to know if there's a special procedure to follow for a 5E, oil pump priming or whatever... There hasn't been any oil in it since end of June.

No, It doesn't have a turbo...

Thanks

I just put an engine in thats not been ran for over a year, i just disconnected the kind lead and kept turning it over for a good 30secs-1min. My oil light went out in this time as well which is a good indication that its getting oil pressure.

You could take the plugs out so the crank and rod bearings aren't under any compression load and it will make it easier for the starter.

Indeed remove the ecu fuse and then crank the engine. Otherwise when you'd only remove the coil cable or something like that a lot of unburned fuel can probably mix with the oil and you don't want that at a first startup.

Cheers guys. Can't wait to have this engine running... The 4E is out, I just have a few sensors to swap over and fit the pick up and sump when the 5E gets off the bench... Fit the flywheel clutch and trans when in the car...
