  1. I've seen it before, not to me. I passed a minivan with the front wheels trying to go their separate ways on a bridge a few years back...
  2. But just by using logical thoughts, all known and myths aside, If you turn the wheel one way to compress air and produce power, then you shut down the throttle flap when the BOV is too small (or absent), the reversed pressure will slow down or stop the wheel. Then when you open the flap again, the wheel has the start spinning again from a very reduced rate, thus causing lag... And I always hear people complaining about lag. Without stating the obvious stress to the compressor wheel and bearings leading to aforementioned damage.
  3. Paseo for mine, saved engine brakes and a few more bits from a wrecked one...
  4. I have no power steering, air con or abs, So I removed all that wasn't lights fan or horn...
  5. Plug and play HID... urgh get rid of that shit.. I pulled everything out when I cleaned up mine 2 years ago, and removed all that wasn't used. Here's before and after shots.
  6. There's always a risk of breaking the old glass when taking it off, a small chip you don't notice plus the tension and movement can crack it beyond repair. To be on the safe side I'd make that a new glass can be brought in fairly quickly if not in stock just to cover your ass. Other than that it's a fairly simple job to do, especially on an EP where there isn't any trims to remove to gain access like a lot of newer cars have. For someone handy, tools and supplies to do the job could probably be bought for under £40.
  7. Heard the same thing happen because of cracked/shorting rotor arms... But it was on older brit cars. Still worth checking
  8. Do you have a link? When I look around here I only get sets that go for hundreds and hundreds...
  9. From professional experience, stay away from european built cars... Unless you have lots of money and time for it.
  10. I'm in Oz, postage would kill me for a head. I just want a full set of decent mileage FTE springs...
  11. Bump. Still after the springs And if any of you have blanking covers for the switches on the center console (where the hazard/demister switches are) I'd need 2...
  12. ^^^ This. I had one last only one year, and I was pushing it.
  13. 185/60 is the closest you can get to keep the speedo true. And that size is easy to find anywhere, you will find good price on them too.
  14. Yes I am, although not very active. The wheel is a Momo replica from ebay, I love it, the feel is much better than the wooden wheel I had before... lol Less than a week delivery from Malaysia for the one I bought.
  15. Getting a bit sick of the chrome wooden wheel that I salvaged from the paseo 2 years ago... So, in respect to not get the rice look, this happened. Other than that, things are moving slowly, gathering a few parts for the head/piston job to come. Getting antsy to fit that front mount though
  16. http://id-workz.co.uk/toyota/starlet/starlet-uk-spec-ep91/exterior/crystal-headlights-uk-spec ID-Workz has them, they're genuine Toyota. The ones you pictured are aftermarket, they don't look like they fit, the curves are wrong... Here's a link to my retrofit album
  17. I was advised not to in regards to police stops, but it's different here than in UK. I have the headliner off, and will strip behind the rear seat to metal. I'll keep the seat and spare easily removable for track. (But I'll have boost then...)
  18. Yup that's my issue atm. If you want to know where it's coming from, there's always the screwdriver trick. Use a long screwdriver while it's squealing, and put the tip on the alternator/water pump... and your ear at the handle end. The closer to the source, the louder it will be. Just don't put it on something that moves, or wear long clothing/hair near anything that moves... obviously.
  19. Is it only when the key is ON? If so, check the switch for the right light, and check the left globe. If not, you might have a short to power between the switch and the lights.
  20. I'm about to pull my head off to do valve seals and piston rings, I built my engine 2 years ago, and it was fitted over the christmas break 20 months ago. I used non-genuine seals and regretted it from a week in.
  21. I also have XTD in mine, but stage 2, listed for Paseo (5E). I read bad comments, mostly in Nissan forums, but it hasn't failed me in almost two years now.
  22. I'm in the process of deciding if I pull the head of mine or the whole engine to play with the head. This thread makes me want to strip everything of the bay!!!
  23. Ah shame, no one else from the west end... lol
