aaddzz123
Unplug the idle control valve. It probably stops when you turn the lights on as the revs die a little. It's a common problem for them to break apart inside and it causes the clicking

kevmcc90
Cool mate didn't know if it was an issue or not?
aaddzz123
They're not supposed to tick lol . A lot of them do, but they're not supposed to. A ticking control valve doesn't affect the running of the engine, but replacing it for one that isn't falling apart inside will resolve the ticking issue .
kevmcc90
Cheers boys. Will cleaning mine help?
aaddzz123
Cheers boys. Will cleaning mine help? Afraid not matey. There is a flimsy copper disc inside that breaks apart. I think this is what causes the ticking... Take it apart and have a look, you'll see what I mean. It's easy enough to take apart and put back together .
kevmcc90
OK will have a look when I get car back, can you get a new one or is it second hand ones?
aaddzz123
You probably can get a new one from toyota but you'd better be ready with your wallet out haha. I imagine they're expensive. We do sell them on jdm-ep.co.uk reasonably cheap and come with a return policy if you're not happy with it.
