Vturbo
So After years of running the EFI pipe, I I installed a front mout filter. Now according to my gauge, it's creeping up to just under 1.3bar on my gauge,in third gear at 5krpm I was under the impression it would only really creep to 1.1, had a bit of a play about with the actuator and ported the wastegate. It's helped a bit but not a great deal, ideally I would like to run 1-1.1 bar....just to add I'm running decat/screamer, full exhaust, blitz access ecu. Any ideas how to solved this? Apart from external wastegate..any input is appreciated
Bluebear
I think, without going ext w/g or for a turbo with a bigger internal w/g, your only other option would be to try porting it more, or restricting your intake.
crispyeel
I had some serious issues with boost creep on my old setup. Standard CT9 turbo & manifold, HKS actuator, HDI FMIC & japspeed decat & catback I found that when I set the actuator to 0.8bar and plumbed the vacuum pipes so that I could still use the Hi/low solenoid, I could almost get away with running it on low boost with minimum boost creep. On Hi was a different story. Couldn't even put the foot down with out hitting the proverbial brick wall pretty violently every time Personally I would highly recommend going down the external wastgate route as I have done. Best move I made
Vturbo
Yeah, the wastegate is quite badly cracked too so that's probably not helping. I'm running a blitz access so fuel cut isn't a problem, it just creeps quite high In the last 1k of the Rev range which probably isn't too healthy
crispyeel
Fair enough but boost creep can still be a pretty nasty thing. Every so often wont cause too much issues but my thoughts on it are that if the car was supposed to boost to those levels, it would have done from the factory. Eventually something is gonna give and it'll more than likely cost you a lot more than an external wastgate
Vturbo
I see what you mean, anyway I bought a tongs hybrid as my ct9 wastegate was badly cracked..il see how that goes! Thanks for the input guys
