Turbo Goose Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Hi guys. Just re installed my engine and loom etc and my rad fan runs all the time. It stops when you u plug it? but thought it was supposed to start it when unplugged as a fail safe Quote
morgey Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Are you on about the actual fan power plug itself or are you unplugging the sensor switch plug to get it to turn on and off? Quote
Turbo Goose Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 The green sensor in the back of the thermo housingWith it plugged in, its on all the time. As soon as you unplug it stops Quote
gazza g Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 That's the stat, circuit is made when you plug it in, like a on off switch depending on temperature, it could be goosed or have you removed the air con? You may need to bridge a couple of cables on one of the plugs Quote
Turbo Goose Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 its in a glanza so dont think the air con thing is an issue but i thought it has a fail safe so as soon as the sensor breaks or is unplugged it automatically brings the fan in as a safety precaution Quote
gazza g Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?95406-rad-fan-re-wiring-assistance/page2 Have a glance at that, gt's vs glanzas wiring is different on rad circuit. Looks like on a Glanza the rad fan relay is n/o, so it may be the stat that's failed? Quote
Patches Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Cheers bud thanks very much!!! Did you get this sorted? I'm having the same issue Quote
Hair Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Snap, I've got the same issue, but we've already tried bridging the fan, and now the fan wont come on at all S: Quote
Turbo Goose Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Changed my fan sensor switch and it works perfect Quote
Charlie28 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I've got the same issue too. ID Workz sell the sensor! Quote
Patches Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 My Apexi Power FC shows the correct coolant temperature (80-84 C) on the commander so surely that means my coolant temperature sensor must be working correctly? Toyota want £90 for a new one so gonna try avoid paying that Quote
