mr_K Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 My forged 4efte engine is causing idle problems..Ill wait until engine is warm and ill take it out for a drive around my area and at traffic lights when i stop the engine will be idling at 1200rpm and slowly takes its time dropping back to 900rpm.Why does the idle take long for it to lower back to stable engine idle?Any suggestions??Thanks Quote
adzy Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I think most glanzas seem to do this to some extent from what I've heard. Also have heard that with a half rad they cool the engine more so when you stop at lights etc it will be in cold idle Quote
5e colin Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 half rad makes no diff on idling there the eurly signs of the wax valve ( under tb ) and idler control valve on left of mani acting up 4efte are notorious for having these problems Quote
patman Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I had this topic going last week and my last post to it was.....Update: warmed up car, Rev engine still does it took icv sensor plug off revved engine, engine goes straight back down to normal revs what it should be at. Quote
mr_K Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Will the icv affect engine performance atall if plug was disconnected? Its doing.my head in.. Idling at 1200 for too long. Quote
Ryan5793 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 mine idles at 1200 no matter what i try, just got used to it now lol Quote
patman Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I would first do what I did mate get the engine up to temp Rev the engine from the throttle cable on inlet of course it will do it then take the icv plug out then Rev it again and see if it drops straight back let us all know what happens Quote
