Jasonp-glanza-s
Hi guysI've been told my n/a glanza s needs a new temp sensor due to the gauge not giving a true reading and the car is over fuelling due to it thinking its cold all the time,I have been told that the uk n/a starlet temp sensor will work, Could any one tell me where the temp sensor is or evan better show me a pic if possibleSorry for such a noob question lol only have my starlet for 4 days ThanksJason
Stu
The water temp sensor for the ecu is separate to the water temp sensor for the dash gauge. So, if your sure its over fueling because its cold, its may be that it is actually cold. Check the thermostat is in - if it is there possibly its a low temp one? Jasonp-glanza-s
It smells of fuel really bad when ever i stop at trafic lights mate,And there's black smoke that come's out the exhaust in high rpm. That is how hot its getting after about an hour or so of driving,
Stu
That alittle low but not actually too bad but im not used to driving your particular model. You could make sure that the temp sensor is plugged in properly (just check all the plugs on the thermostat housing). Is the oxygen sensor plugged in? The ecu should be trimming fuel if the oxygen sensor is working
Jasonp-glanza-s
Is there a diagram about that shows where all the sensors are pal? I have no clue with these engines lol
Stu
If you look on the back of the head under distributor you will find it. Make sure everything is plugged in snuggly and not covered in oil
Jasonp-glanza-s
Will go check now thanks pal
Jasonp-glanza-s
All looks to be fine pal, i will change the thermostat and the temp sensors just to be safe and see if that helps, hopefully it does its using alot of fuel atm
Jasonp-glanza-s
Am i right in saying my car is missing a sensor?
Stu
That's usually where the radiator fan switch is located.
Jasonp-glanza-s
I've been told that glanzas dont have them, just want to know why lol
Ollieh17
glanzas do have them, that may explain why you temp is low. Fan always running Edited August 12, 2015 by Ollieh17
