CTopZ Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 As above, car is still smoking pretty bad on boost, I have now uprated the valve stem seals and checked the intake pipes for any oil, which there is none and yet it's still smoky, not sure what it could be now,Any ideas? Quote
Matt1878 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 What colour is the smoke!? I had no oil in my Intercooler pipes but the seals had gone. This caused blue smoke on boost and a little off boostMatt Quote
CTopZ Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Ermm just sort of glazy, it's not blue from what I can tell. But i do know it's put little droplets of oil all over the rear. And Yeh mostly on boost, sometimes happens when I get to a junction/roundabout it will bellow out a load of smoke, but thats only on occasions.Puzzled 😕 Quote
CTopZ Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Cheers lads, new turbo then. Anyone point in me the right direction for a either a new one or decent used one? Also which model am I after? As I know there a few. Quote
daniel_g Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 If its a standard turbo its a CT9, in all honesty youd be better sending yours away for a rebuild because its a minefield buying used CT9s, 90% of them smoke.Or if you cant take your car off the road buy a cheap CT9 and send that away for a rebuild.Or you could be running a TD04 and i wrote that for no reason haha Quote
CTopZ Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Yeh mate already running a td04, What you reckon, is it worth buying a second hand one or reconning this one? Cheers Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Buy a 2nd hand one they are like 40 quid lol. Quote
