fordie_glanzaV
May be the answer to my question.Illlook into that tommorow then... Just fitted engine into new shell.. had bottom end checked, and new clutch fitted... And its now developed tight spot when tryna turn over by hand...
AdamB
Common issue on some clutches.
Ollieh17
Had same issue with a spec clutch on mine. Turned out mr2 clutches were sold rather than the statlet ones, just had to grind the box slightly

mark-tozer
It's there no clutch that actually works in a starlet they either don't fit and rub or last 5 mins we need some one to make a decent clutch.

mark-tozer
I'm going to try one of these next Edited November 26, 2015 by mark-tozer
Charlie28
Without sounding too stupid, how will i know if its rubbing? i've had my gearbox on and off a few times and dont have any problems fitting it over the clutch?
fordie_glanzaV
When fitting mine it slipped over the clutch and on in the spline perfect...Put everything together.. Turned engine over by hand and could feel a tight spot/grinding noise...
Ollieh17
Mine was the same, was very hard to turn over. I think its worse with some if you have a different to oem flywheel
Matthewep91v
I still have the stock flywheel I will test fit and see whats going on
Charlie28
I'll have to check this too
