geofreygachie
Just got a 09/1998 TOYOTA STARLET with 143500KM ,in good condition though it needs thorough checkup to make sure all is ok.I however noted that there was no indication of timing belt change , should i go ahead and change it ? morgey
Well worth changing, it but they are a non interference engine so its not the end of the world if they do break.

Bean
Assuming it's driveable just count the gear changes.
geofreygachie
I have a slow oil leak on the area near the belts and timing system.I have tried looking the specific source of the problem but i can't pin point.Aaaargh 😠.The leak was not there in December last year.Is this a common problem or it's just an isolated case ? Flynn
Many people say that a starlet that doesn't leak oil, doesn't have any oil in it lolBoth my 4e's have had leaks in that area, common fault I'm afraid

geofreygachie
I have just noted a very weird thing. The passenger seat belt indicator flashes when a passenger fastens the seat belt. What is going on ? I thought it should flash anytime a passenger doesn't fasten the belt. Edited January 11, 2016 by geofreygachie
Bean
take the cambelt cover off and have a look, it could be leaking from the rocker cover, the cam cap seals, oil pump maybe or the crank seal low down.
