Well after restoring my old sr to her former glory and having it how I wanted it to look she was written off by a motorbike

After this I was unsure what to get next, luckily another sr popped up, unfortunately the previous owner worked at a tesco so it was left in the car park and got beaten up every day, being the one colour I hate, black, it looked like it had been shot by a few shotguns.

A friend whom is a panel beater offered to help make her look pretty again so it began 😎

Will try and update with pictures when I can, always usually forget until it's too late 😁

Got too many vehicles at the mo so will be having a clear out when this comes back home 🙁

Cheers guys, I really miss the white one but shit happens, I'll see what other pics I have of it

Burty what sort of stereo was it, I have quite a few kicking around.

Filler your a brave man, don't get me wrong when black cars are clean they look epic but they show up every bit of dirt and even the smallest dent looks like a mile deep crator 😁😁

Original Sony was terrible ive got a replacement sorted fitted it today old age car with new age technology now😂 still Sony though , when I bought the sr I wanted black ,white or silver in that order but now having silver hides a lot of age related marks

This looks like a great project mate cant wait too see the end result! Glad too see another starlet getting some bodywork tlc :)

Gutted for you with the white one mate but the new one looks like it's getting some awesome tlc. I had a white one for my first car and now have black. 'Williams waterless wash and wax' works a treat on mine :)

Cheers guys, yea I tend to revive cars that people don't seem bothered about, onwards and upwards tho, postman came today and gave me my new nuts 👍🏻 and I finished painting and refurbing the glanza calipers and sliders

These are the wheels I have, it looks like someone as hand painted these and has paint runs everywhere 😬😬

Had them all shot blasted and a fresh coat of white, just the pearl coat to go, these bastards look amazing in the sun already 😎

Corolla manifold fitted and had a few hoses in the garage so put some new ones to replace the old ones, quick coat of wheel silver on the manifold once de-greased and prepped, new gasket fitted and she's on, treated the rocker cover quick too 👍🏻👍🏻

Looking good mate mines the opposite to yours- my heat shield is like new but I need to paint my Corolla mani and rocker. Have you noticed any difference in performance with the mani?

Posted

My heat shield is all painted but it's in my garage at home, I'll bolt it on when it goes home hopefully next weekend 😃

No idea on performance wise as not driven it for a few months as been in the unit 🙁

I was going to say- your engine bay is so clean was just that one bit that needed sorting. Ive heard people say that they can feel a difference but I'm not sure if that's just a plussebo effect, will find out soon! Do you need the Corolla manifold gasket or does the starlet one fit? Also which hose needs to be changed for a longer one mate do you know?

Posted

Yea I'm as fussy about my engine bays as I am my bodywork, hence the others being so clean 😁

Will let you know about performance when I test it out 👍🏻

Think it was the Corolla gasket I ended up using, I had a spare in my toolbox. Think it was the vacuum pipe for the servo off the top of my head, I just sort of went into auto mode lol

Very nice. I should get mine this week then it's getting refurbed and fitted but I just wanted to know if there's anything else I need. I should be ok with the stock gasket as long as it's in fact although I am tempted to order one just to be safe. I'll have to get hold of some hose too but not sure where to get it from
