Headgasket

If I was to do my headgasket would it be ok to use oem gasket or something or should I go Athena steel gasket? Will be running 1 bar td04 at some point so just want to know which gasket to use before I go ahead with it

I'm currently replacing head gasket on my GT, running 1 bar on vf10 (very similar to td04). I went for an Athena 1.2mm

I got mine from tuning developements, think was around £110? Postage was super quick, arrived the next day

Do it once, do it right

use a genuine toyota head gasket only, dont waste your money on a steel gasket at a bar also head and block will need a scimm to seal the steel gasket properly stock gasket will go past 1.2 bar

That's grand the price of them steel gaskets the multi layered ones, I know the saying goes buy cheap buy twice but I just wanted to know which gasket was best to use for the setup I will have

ya go toyota an buy 1 there do not buy in the motor factors they blow i know im mister budget tryed a few of them ha ha toyotas hg are uber strong

Sorted will get one from Toyota thanks Colin I probably won't be doing the gasket myself but will supply a genuine one for mechanic, will I defo need to replace head bolts

And if I do will I need ARP or will Toyota ones do

you can reuse the head bolts to i have on many occasions reused them for my stingy customers , BUT its best to get a new set if you can , buy them in a factors for 30e i think

if your reusing the old 1s make sure al threads are clean and no oils in the block threads

If they're that cheap I will get new ones il do it right going to do water pump and stuff while it's getting head gasket and I might do oil pump too! I don't actually even know if the headgasket is gone yet I won't know till Monday I don't have the time to be at the car with work and I need it for work so time to splash the cash I think

stock toyota head gasket, suppose to be good !
