HELP? Car won't start

Recommended Posts

Right basically I had it running a couple of months ago and it's been stood since I haven't touched it at all...

Chrged the battery and went to go for gold and it's turning over fine it's getting. Spark but there is no fuel pressure at all and I can't hear the pump priming

I have done the diagnostic check as I initialy thought it was the pump but on the diagnostic check everything is fine fuel pump turns over spot on and builds up pressure but as soon as I go to start it I get sweet fuck all again.

I have a toad sterling one alarm on the car but it is locking and unlocking fine?

Has anyone experienced the same problem before or does anyone know how to reset this alarm to see if it is the immobiliser I can't seem to find anything on the web :(

Cheers

Tried that mate still didn't work :( Im thinking it has nothing to do with the imiboliser now I'm going to try and follow the wiring from the fuel pump back and make sure that I'm getting power to it when I turn the key

I'm also going to replace the efi fuse see if that makes a difference in completely lost tbh I don't have a clue what it could be now

Right I have removed the alarm completely today and I've still got the exact same problem...

No fuel

No spark

No eml on

No oil pressure light on

Turns over but wont start

So obviously the alarm wasn't the issue as that was removed the efi relay has been replaced so it wasn't that and like I said I done the diagnostic test on the pump and it runs fine so obviously the pump is ok

Any ideas as to what it could be? Someone must know

Had a multi meter on the earths today and they all seem to be strong I have...

Battery to earth kit

Earth kit to block

Earth kit to body

Earth kit to box

Earth kit to body again

Body to block

So I don't think it will be the earths unless I'm missing one somewhere? I tested the little one that goes from the fuel pump wiring to the uprights in the dash aswell and that seemed fine

What ecu are you running now? Fpr? I don't see how it can just stop working, what have you replaced since then? Fuel filter blockage..no leaks from the lines. If you loosen the fuel line from the rail push it right over the lip, try start it, if you don't get a small fuel leak your problem is from the back of the car...not very professional but it will narrow the route

I'm running a sard Ecu now but I tried a standard Ecu yesterday and it did nothing and a tuning developments fpr I haven't changed anything at all since it last started? I've moved it about half a mile on a trailer but that's it

The problem isn't a blockage or anything because when I bridge b+ and Ft or what ever the fuck it is my pump runs and my fuel gauge goes up to the right pressure on my fuel pressure reg

So it's obviously a wiring issue that's all it can be but what the fuck is there on a one of these cars that can knock the pump off shot the spark out take the eml off and get rid of the oil pressure light off all at the same time?

I've tried replacing the Ecu ive tried replacing the efi relay and I've tried checking the earths an fuses anymore ideas what to check electrically?

Only thing I can think of now is the throttle stuck closed cutting it off that way tps sensor I would point everything to the fuel pump though if it is still priming up it might not be pushing the needed amount through with it been stud it's probably went stubborn hope you get sorted!

check relay... or a general fuse in the engine bay

It can't be the pump though mate because when I do the test it primes perfect and I get fuel pressure it's only when I turn the key it doesn't so I know the fuel pump works fine :/

do you hear the starter working ?

This sounds like a management problem to me. I would double check all plugs are connected in the fuse boxes and into the ECU, make sure the wiring around the ignition is all done correctly after removing the alarm. It could be related to the EFI fuse if you've not tried that yet. Swap it out for another and see if there is any difference.

If the problem occurred after the car being sat, then putting a battery on, it can only really be down to basics such as a fuse when the battery was put on, rubber perishing or corrosion on terminals if wet etc....

Try and look at it from a different point of view and go over it all again! Start with the basics.
