A lot of the technology is the same - just some companies translate it into easier to understand terminology. He doesn't mention it but I'd judge the recent HKS evcs to likely equal or beat the AVCR for control and adjustability but it definitely fails in the simplicity department. Have a read. Personally I'm a old school believer in a big solenoid
