Was moving the car literally 200 yards and I didn't bother wearing a seatbelt and the police noticed and gave me a warning for it and then checked the car and it had just failed its mot due to the emissions test but the old one was out of date now, so then I got a nice £60 fine outside my house. This all happened at 9.30 in the morning and where I live it is like a ghost town. They must be seriously bored and they thought I may have been drink driving due to me rolling out my bed. Lucky for me I just stayed in last night to watch the football. Moral of the story, always wear your seatbelt, in

First time buying something off a forums and I was pretty edgy, but the exhaust I bought arrived today. Only problem I had was that nightfreight are a bunch of cunts. Got.boost is a good seller which is the main point though.

Mot failed on lambda being too high
sjbrowning7 replied to sjbrowning7's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Funny you hold say, I've just went out earlier and blocked the exhaust and there is a leak roughly around the front seats area. Going to get my grampa to fix that cause I thought it may have been running lean too but it's defo a leak. Doesn't even want to cut out or anything. *should damn ipad spell check lol -
Right just had my mot, it failed on a couple things but they are easily replaced however my car passed the cat test but failed on the lambda test. What could be the problem? The minimum value is 0.970 and max is 01.03, my car read 1.090 on the first test then 1.094 on the second. What does this actually mean? It failed by a lot or just failed?

The ford ones seem a good deal, 4 quid each one. Just need to go and see them when I can be hooped lol
-
Looked them up, they look like they could work a treat, going to go into Ford and Mazda to see what they are like in the flesh for size wise. Mazda have the exact same ones too now.

Cheers for the info guys, will need to have a look at these jets. Hate the crappy ones on the car, look so bad and they work terribly ha I am just looking for ones on the bonnet Amjad. Don't mind trying to modify the jets to fit aswell, just if any are nearly the same size and fit then that would be good.
-
Does anyone know if any of those type of washer jets fit on the starlet? One of the lads said try the Honda jazz ones but has anyone tried them before or can recommend any other makes?

Lol it was one hell of a ride, I'm still trying to recover from it!

Nah, it's getting done by autoglass just now. All my windows are stock anyway so it would look funny being tinted lol do you get to choose to get it tinted through the insurance? -

Think mine is the same with the insurance but is it any hassle going through them? Needing it done so I can get my mot booked. -
Anyone know of anyone who does cheap windscreen replacements in this area? I know a guy who can do it for £160 but trying to get a hold of him is an absolute mare.

I used to be at sainsburys all the time, just cba going to Stirling anymore. Yeh I mind seeing a silver starlet, think it was Christmas eve. Just getting the booze and some presents ha was heeving in that car park!

I had a spare icv lying around so swapped it over this morning. Opened up the icv that was already on the car and one of the wee vanes was already burst away from the rest of it, I suspect it could be that at fault? Pretty annoying something so small can make a huge difference and piss you off ha! Seen on the cleaning tutorial for the icv that a new icv is £96!

Right this is a weird situation. Well on a cold start it idles around 1750rpm then once it gets up to normal operating temperature it idles at 1k. If I drive sensibly the car will idle at 1k once I come to rest. If I decide to boot it then drive sensibly for say a minute and come to rest the car will either idle around 1.5k or occasionally will surge, but if I turn the engine off and back on it will idle at 1k. I have checked all vacuum hoses using the good old wd40 trick and they seem fine. Even clamped hoses individually to check if it changes the idle and nothing. Has anyone had this pr

What a bell end... This WilkieGT guy says he prefers to be called Gareth Keenan, he only responds to that name now. Pretty weird.

Yeh I did. Aw yeah I remember now, you nearly wiped out a cyclist cause you were looking at my car haha

Cheers for all the welcomes and comments guys! Will try get some more pics of the car up.
