I'm looking for a mph Speedo for the mk1clocks with the l.e.d boost gauge, does anyone have one or know if they exist ?
-
I mounted mine using an m10 bolt through the hole in the exhaust tunnel where the seatbelt latch attaches
-
Who's got the photos with the headgasket ninja ?
-
Hahaha Dan and his 1ltr, and proud! .. i love the way he just came from nowhere with his finest Yorkshire accent.
Me and Phil were playing around with him on the A1 on the way home it is nippy, but its no 5,500 vtec yo' haha
-
That stand up attempt was classic ..
The micra headgasket scenario is the best memory, and grants immense run/fall on Saturday night for those who saw it
I'm sorry the mk1 wasn't pristine or even clean boys. But thankyou all for a brilliant weekend and I can't wait for the next show

As people said Everything! shows through the topcoat even the slightest bit will show up sooo bad. I'm no expert but I have sprayed my peugeot, my dad's stag and I've been doing a lot of spraying at work. Admittedly the 205 was terrible the stag isn't bad but not professional and at work I paint bollards, electric gates, hydraulic rams, and blockers ( the steel wedges that fold out of the floor at airports to stop trucks etcc) its oil based colour and 2k primer.
The primer and basecoat arn't that hard to spray, keep the gun level with the surface and always 6-8 inchs away, if it does run use tights to dab the run and it will take it out without air bubbles. The laquer will be the hardest, it will run like mad if you don't take your sweeeet ass time. Give it a very light coat and leave for 20 mins or half hour then follow with progressively heavyer coats leaving 10/20 mins between or till its takky. Its the only way to get the final coat quite wet and shiny without making it run. I do 3 coats of primer sanding with 800 between two, then wet sand the third, with 1000/ 1200.
Then 3/4 coats of colour, leave 10 mins between, wet sand the top coat with 1000/1200 .
then 5 coats of laquer and a final wet sand with 1000,2000 then g2 polishing compound and use 800 or even 400 to remove any runs.
I will say that a good gun setup will help you massively and make sure you have plenty of air pressure constantly
a water filter on your airline is recommended (condensation in the compressor will go up the line and cause an orange peel effect)
It's what I've learnt from my mistakes, been told by people and looked up about , I believe you never learn unless you try

Just drove past me heading towards skirlington market/ Bridlington way .. I'm gutted I wasn't in mine or I would have turned round and attempted a chat.
Sounded nice though.

Will you sell the turbo and actuator together ?
-
Is there any chance you can hold onto the actuator for me ?

hahaha i knew most people wouldnt, but im just an extravagent person so its going to be a bit strange ..
yeahh hes only had it a few months, surprised you didnt see it at japfest 2.
-
rightt update time..
i had a brilliant time a japfest 2 there was sooo many stunning cars.
im gutted i couldnt bring the mk1 but the turbo would have just smoked out the whole of donnington. a friend of mine had a bit of an Indian moment on me and gave me his old ct9 as he had upgraded to a 2nd hand hybrid, the hybrid since failed and he decided he wanted the turbo back .. i was angry but, such as life ..

i still need to buy a turbo and ideally i want one thats allready rotated, i know its just my luck when i split the core from the housings ill damage something. for the oil line i can just pop to pirtek in hull flaminsam said it took about 5 mins for them to make his.
i got my mits on a couple of these

the car was sold to me with an lsd, it pulls like it has one and throws me twords kerbs but the box is just a standard box

while the car has been laid about ive been messing around on the interior plastics and had a little door card trimming session,
i got hold of some oem alpine speakers from a box in the loft at hull toyota. i had some fun fitting them to my doorcards, love it or hate it i dont care

front mount and some paint makes a hell of a difference i think. vokesa kindly washed the car and ive since removed that sticky numberplate mess off the splitter .. should have really taken a better photo :/
ive done my absolute best to hide the front mount and not cut the bumper im still debating wether i should remove that centre bit, any thoughts on what i should do ??

I've got a manifold and downpipe for a td and I'm planning on going td04 anyway but still not got all the parts. my current ct9 has a lovely crack from the wastegate to turbine and is creating a mystical smoke screen everytime I stop ..
If anyone has either it would be appreciated
Cheers

There we go .. I wasn't sure about the forged bit. But yeahh nice car man. That EVO was dust. Coming off the services roundabout aswell, that was maaad ..
It was a good day aside the sunburn
-
I spoke to that kid with the green wheel glanza in the pits just after he dicked all over a silver and red evo, it sounded naughty, especially when the wastegate screamer cracked a flame from under the front, quality machine
Looking through the bonnet and stuff
Td04 externally gated, normal mods, I think it had an oil cooler and relocation kit too ..
he said it wasn't forged running 230/240.. vokesy, Dan and (sorry I've forgotton your name ) black glanza purple mystery wheels.we're all stood next to me ..
Nice to meet a few people and the two lads and lady who helped me sort a wastegate actuator bodge... .legends
And finally
Lew, I will trade you my left foot and my mk1 for your car its beautiful.
-
Top guy .. everything arrived quickly and is as described.
Brilliant
-
Hahaha I was well wrong, serves me right for looking at it on my phone.
-
Is this Still avaliable ?
-
nicee .. where did you get that oil filler cap ?
-
exhaust looks missing to me ..potential side exit
does anyone know if thats a recaro interior ? it looks leather to me ..
b pillar brace looks intresting too and is that some optional on the passenger side dash ?
isnt that bumper on iamlegend glanza ?
-
Very Intrested in the front mount but your a bit far away can you get a price on postage or would you mind if a friend collected it for me ?
-
Giggedy ..
Looks tasty, what boost is it running at ?
-
Et 50 ?? Do they not catch the inner arch and scrape like mad ?
-
Yeahh I'm feeling you mate .. i got the manifold with the car it had a small crack which again Toyota kindly tig welded up for me. It looks stainless to me but its not branded and the material itself is pretty. and thick walled.. I presume they crack because the runners are different lengths so they expand at differnet rates when they get hot .. I'm totally up for a swopping with him it needs doing sooner rather than later .. flamin Sam is drilling out a snapped stud on the mild steel one so hopefully I'll get it sorted soon. I'm feeling a front mount over anything it will look nicer and I can get the pipes powdercoated or sprayed to match the engine bay theme ... I'll just have to be really really careful not to cut the bumper might remove the centre slats and shift the plate or make a smaller one.
