  1. Once the rad is mounted i'll then actually secure the fan to the rad (its just flapping around at the moment). I got hold of an SPL mounting kit from Demon Tweaks (part numbers pictured). Once the fan is secured i'll then be replacing the fan switch (fan is on constantly which seems a common fault when fitting the new set up).
  2. Next week i'll be cutting the original rad mount out, painting the area and then mounting the half rad properly as it was just sat on the old mount and cable tied to the crash bar at the top
  3. Starlets are hilarious because they are pretty much go-karts. That old SR of mine was great fun, i never really put the radio on in it because it was so much fun to drive. So.. some sort of progress. I bought rad mounting brackets from ID-W, they are excellent quality however, they don't come with rubber grommets. After some fun with my digital calipers I measured up and ordered some which arrived today and are spot on. They were only £1.30 too.
  4. Yeah the van wasn’t cheap but they hid their money a lot better than the Mercedes we got rid of and are loads more practical. Yeah the Scirocco was lovely, he’s sold it now to put money into the mk1 caddy as it just sat there and never got used. M The fabia is a cracking little car. Punchy, economical and practical. I do loads of miles in the week and it just eats up the miles. I’ll try and get more updates on the starlet soon but progress is slow as I only have my lunch breaks or time after work but am also topping my HND up to degree level so everything’s a bit hectic at the m
  5. There are a lot of petrol heads at my place. The Capri is a bit special, it’s running a v6 and is almost back in the road. Another friend is working through his mk1 caddy. No one ever knows what the GT is ha ha. Ive has the fabia 5 years and it is spot on, does everything really. It’s booked in for a map at Darkside in December. Wanted a van since long before their recent spike in popularity, now that I’ve got one I love it, whack four bikes in the back and that’s us out somewhere nice on the bikes all day, makes camping a lot easier too.
  6. This is a t6 sportline with 204ps as standard, doesn’t hang around for a van that’s for sure.
  7. Just incase some people do care though
  8. And during this time I’ve also fitted KW V1s to my fabia and bought a van, but I know nobody wants to hear about those as they’re German.
  9. Boost leak #1. Thought I’d cheer myself up and fit my Sard Bov. Found that the hose holding the fake HKS one on actually had a smaller bit inside and pretty much came off in my hand. Boost leak #2. The ‘vac’ hose already fitted was more like washer jet tubing 🤣 so I replaced it with the proper stuff. This hose also pretty much just came off in my hand. Im nearly finished refurbishing the battery mount, it wasn’t rotten but did have surface rust so it got cleaned up, etch primed and painted. I’m STILL waiting for my batter tray which has been over 3 weeks since I ordered it. Once tha
  10. Well, I guess time just flies by really without me even realising. Can’t believe I haven’t updated In two months but I was away from the car for nearly 5 weeks of that. ive been ordering lots of parts And I’m still waiting for some to arrive. Some of these parts are key to me moving on to other areas of the car so I can’t really move forward until they arrive (I don’t want to start loads of different things and forget where I’ve gotten to). so the updates.. may be a little underwhelming but I’ve been going through the engine bay trying to undo years of bodges
  11. I’d love to drop one in an SR, if I’d kept my old one then that’s what I’d be doing I think, nice reliable NA power. I’d also like to Whack a rotrex kit on a corolla compressor but I’ve only got the money for one project at a time.
  12. Yeah I can’t wait to see the progress to be honest mate. I think someone on here has all three colours lol, made for a cool pic
  13. It’s been his car for a few years now mate, I was just looking after it while he got back on his feet. Do love it though, so much fun to drive and so clean. Have a word with him about the 98 spec interior mate 😉
  14. Yeah they are nice but always packed the punch for me. My dad had the 190 but the car just seemed really heavy. He then had the corolla compressor after that
  15. So I’m just about to head to Trav now to give him the car back, I’ll miss it but at least now I’ll be able to focus on the GT and he gets his toy back.
  16. Well, I got the car all loaded up today ready to take back to Trav. Had one last little blast in her first and still puts a smile on my face. He’s got some really nice things planned for the car so switch over to his thread for some updates soon.
  17. Nice tidy looking car, we had a bit of a play, I was in the black Fabia VRS
  18. Was on a trailer going south on the m1 today around 2
  19. I’m just struggling with time really but next week I plan to get a lot done
  20. I know of 3 but that’s it. I ordered some bits and bobs but just need to find the time to fit them. Got hold of a rocker so that’ll be getting sent off to dean soon and I’m going to start working on the brakes so that I can get the car driving around
  21. Good to see it’s still going mate
  22. If you’re thinking of removing the one from your car to make a If you’re thinking about removing yours to make a mold then it may be tricky as I’m sure the body shop bonded it on As well as bolting it in place
  23. Nice to see you back on here mate and rare photo opportunity there. Can’t decide which colour I like the best as they all look good in their own right. Sorry to hear about the axel!! Where the hell did you find original decals for it? yeah that’s the problem with a super low mileage car, can you actually enjoy ownership? I had an Impreza GB270 wagon once and it was number 1 of 100, I hated putting miles on it or driving it in the rain, I sold it after a year because I just couldn’t enjoy it
