  1. It's an absolute CUNT of a job. Fucking twatting cunt. Yes I'm pissed off.
  2. All I can see is too many clean Starlets in the gallery, so we need to address the balance. Post them rally slags. PS .. and if they're too shiny, you know what to do!
  3. Mine's nudging 117k miles and pulls extremely well. I'd say the engines just about broken in.
  4. Did the non-imports ever see Japan or were they put together in a factory closer to home?
  5. Just wondering how heavy the 4efe gearbox/bell housing is in terms of lifting, as I'm planning on changing the clutch by myself. The only means I have to manoeuvre it would be to 'benchpress' it back in, and of course, initially out. How feasible is it? Never replaced a clutch before.
  6. Need an idea of the weight for postage etc. Estimate in kilos/can one person confidently lift it? No idea how heavy these things are..
  7. Red ones are the best ones. I'm not bias at all. .
  8. Any chance you could do a break down of all the looms you've required to connect your turbo'd engine? Would like to do a turbo conversion myself and a lil' heads up would be pretty useful.
  9. In that case I'll take my chance! Cheers guys.
  10. Is the engine a piece of scrap if the belt lets go, or a case of popping a new belt on and away you go? Some reports say that the 4efe's a interference engine, others say it isn't! So yea, if anyone's belt went pop, I wanna know what happened. Somewhat playing Russian roulette with mine; it's on 53200 miles since the last change which was 13 years ago..
  11. Bought an alternator from Micky boy to get my Starlet back on the road! Would definitely deal with again.
  12. fucking hell, i considered doing a 4efte swap, but after taking the alternator off my n/a (needs a new one) i'll definitely pass, it's a PITA........
  13. Alternator required for '96 reg starlet..
  14. Second serpentine belt on my starlet n/a has been snapped in two months. I think I've narrowed the problem down to the alternator as the casing is full of dusted rubber; symptoms point towards shot alternator bearings. So, bit of a long shot but does anyone know of a place I can purchase a new set of these starlet n/a alternator bearings? TIA
  15. When you've got the engine loom, how do you know where to plug the different connectors on the loom to the sensors on the engine? Is it just like completing a jigsaw ie each connector will only fit to its corresponding sensor, or were they labelled??
  16. Bradford's not too far away. The car features in this thread: http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/39877-my-2nd-ep91/
  17. Saw this last night at ~9pm on Manchester ring road, stopped behind it at the lights outside the old MEN arena.
