    LSD Identification help!

    A friend of mine bought an LSD box quite a while ago and with regards to all clutch type LSD" the plates have worn down quite significantly resulting in quite frankly a slightly/non-working LSD.



    We both have spent hours trying to find out what LSD it is but have come to no avail.

    The main housing has only 3 holes and it is only a 1 way diff with no adjustability otherwise.



    I can get a lot more pictures, but these where just a quick snap just after stripping the diff.



    Any help would be very much appreciated!

    No, don't do that.

    The same thing happened to my glanza a few years back, i took the engine out, rebuilt it, and put it back in and i couldn't get the light out.

    I tired to clear the code with bridging two connections on the diagnostics plug, ( i can't remember what the connections where, it could be the standard TC1+ E1 connection but its been a few years since.) turning the ignition on and pumping the brake peddle alot within 5 seconds.

    If this doesn't work and you cannot get rid, don't take the bulb out, as an mot test requires the light to come on and then go out.

    I did get round this but i don't want to put the fourm in disrepute. its up to you if you want to contact me on how i did this.

    As above, the gearbox i have at the moment is very noisy and crunches in 2nd when cold.

    I'm after a box that is ok, doesn't have to be perfect but something that can be worked on, either way it will be stripped and overhauled, but i don't what anything trashed.

    Non factory LSD gearbox considered as well,

    Whats everybody got?

    Well i was interested by your ebay add but and it states that it goes in all gears and all the synchros where fine.

    Quite clearly thats not the case, honesty is always the case and i dont think you where honest with saying all gears work and synchros

    Are fine.

    Anyway I've said my two piece.

    Bit annoyed about coming down today fella, come 53 miles from preston and the lsd box doesnt even go in gear

    There was bits smashing around inside and the diff didnt even turn, very dissapointed that in your ebay advert it said everything was perfect other then the primary shaft bearing had gone.I'm no expert on cars but didnt take me 5 mins ti figure out box is as good as scrap and would cost hundreds to fix. You of all people should know how to test a gearbox and put an honest add up so could you please recitify your add otherwise i'l have to report you on forum.

    Quite disapointed with that fella!
