  1. Hi mate, have you soldered the FCD in? If not do so as I was having similar symptoms after the previous owner didn't solder & used chocolate blocks.
  2. Brilliant turbo & that is a Reyt steal at this price! I run one of these, and I'm very impressed, hold high boost levels brilliantly & I have no faults or leaks whatsoever!
  3. I've recently had some massive issues with the MAP sensor mate, was causing the engine to flood etc. Makesure its actually plugged in correctly, check the terminal pins are secured, as that's a common place for it to go. Also, check the wiring loom next to the ECU, if anyones been playing around with an FCD under there, they could've bodged it & not soldered the wiring correctly, or not even soldered at all! Let us know how you get on mate.
  4. Hahaha! Was for a photoshoot matey for the blog!
  5. Howdy! Finally! not many of us holding down the fort is there aha! Never met a fellow goth on the car scene!
  6. Socks was he actually part of UKSO or not? Or some UKSO Stalker?
  7. I'm known for my stupid antics mate, Im still about 6 in the head, but aren't we all?
  8. Anyone? Surely there is fellow metal heads within the community? Slipknot? Machinehead? Killswitch Engage? FFDP? HIM? Surely theres others out there! Another question, Is there any other goths in the UKSO Community? Or am I the only one? :S
  9. Just throwing this one out there.... Anyone got the UKSO Logo Tattoo'ed on them? Or a starlet in that case? I'm already tattooed, and I think the ukso logo would make a neat touch!
  10. Just bought a ticket from the store, after japfest that's just been I'm hooked!
  11. Would like to start off this post to thank everyone for a brilliant day, to say this is the first time I've ever met Anyonelse in the club, it has defiantly been the best day for me, the old man & my glanza! The convoy was amazing (until my car started playing up) and to be introduced to fellow members by john & drongo's dad was awesome, first time since I quit racing downhill mtb I actually felt part of something! After seeing a lot of peoples rides I have gathered a lot of inspiration on which direction to take my glanza in! Thankyou to those I spoke to and whom gave me advice, learn
  12. Mines still an on-going project haha! Was a nail when I bought it through neglect, she's looking good enough for japfest but there's still a tonne of stuff to be done throughout the year! I'm feeling the stress too mate, I've even took time off work just to carry on preparing it for japfest haha! #gotmyprioritiesstraight
  13. Right then guys As you know japfest is around the corner & it's typical of this to happen only days away. Car started to be hesitant last night on the way back from a meet. Started the car this morning g and it was running so rough! Checked the plugs and they were all coked up, suggesting a rich running engine. I cleaned them up and took it out & all seemed fine until it backfired went all hesitant and p cut out. Now it doesn't run for long & doesn't soumd healthy. Recently had fuelling checked and injectors checked and they're both sound! Plugs are still coked up. Engine light cam
  14. Some Reyt feedback here wasn't expecting this! Well I kinda was, I'm an ex downhill mtb'er, and noobs always used to be like "dudeeee what tyres you running" haha! I'm going to be making a purchase of some new wheels before japfest hopefully, and I'm wanting to steer away from t1's as they're pissing me off, I've heard good things from the 888's too phil! I'm tempted with them if I'm honest! On the polo I've being running kuhmo ecsta for the past god knows how long, they are brilliant in the wet and in the dry perform like sh*t to a blanket!
  15. Easily Syncro's mate, as 5e Colin stated, it's a common fault with starlets between 2&3rd Syncro's. My gearbox basically shat itself after a bolt fell out of the bottom mount and it pulled a chunk of the box with it... Luckily though, I managed to source a box out of a toyota corolla that had done 7000 miles and dropped that in, ratios are a tad closer too!
  16. What conditions are the plugs in dude? Colour wise? When was your tester last calibrated? As anything that's being de-catted, naturally your going to find a higher HC level than normal, just dodgy MOT it mate!
  17. Thank you to all of you! You all have a slightly different opinion, but everyone seems to be saying around the 1000km mark, I hit 400km today on the way to work! Not long now boys, Japfest is in sight too!
  18. Right then guys, probably the most opinionated topic going, but it's interesting to see peoples views on this! Tyres! Yes, you heard it "Dude what tyres you running?" My current choice are Toyo T1's, Brilliant in the dry and I have confidence with them in the corners, struggle to lay the power down though under heavy acceleration. Absolute nightmare in the wet though! I've never known under steer like it! So what's everyone running?
  19. Would you do it for 1000km not miles mate? And I did, I drove it hard through 3,4 gears. What sort of rev range and boost levels would you suggest next after the first 1000km, I need a rough idea on what to do next as I've already covered 400km in the last 5 days....
  20. Right then guys, Some of you are aware I'm currently bedding in my engine after a bottom end rebuild. I've seen many posts on how people have bedded in top end rebuilds such as piston rings etc but I haven't seemed to find anything to do with bedding in the bottom end. I'm currently running a new crankshaft on this rebuild, 2 new Conrod's & millers running in oil and an OE Filter. I've being advised to do 1000 miles not spinning any more than 3000rpm. But I have a theory that the engine needs to used throughout the rev range? Am I correct? I'm terrified that going 100rpm over and boostin
  21. Aye tell me about it mate, was paranoid as hell!
  22. Just to confirm guys, I took the car back to the guys who did the fuelling check & wideband. Turns out car is spot on, the tinge of petrol I could smell was just the additives in the oil and me being hyper sensitive with not trust the car hahaha!
  23. I've had a look at the plugs and they're brown, indicating they're fine, and whats a wide band test? I read somewhere earlier that if the engine is reaching the correct temperature, idling okay and the fuel consumption is good, it's not really something to worry about? I also read that oil does over time has a 'fuelly' smell to it, but it's completly different to a 'raw' petrol smell?
