Apprentice Technician for Toyota Gary

An earth can be taken from a solid metal surface joined onto the body, ideally I would go for a body earth already made by toyota as you know it's a good earth. The live wire will go onto you ignition live, there will be 4 wires behind your ignition barrel, main live feed( thick red most likely) earth ( thick black) and two slightly thinner wires, you will need a test light or multimeter to test these two. One will get power when the key is in ACC position and the other will get power when the igntion is on, you need the one where power is at the wire with the ignition on. The illumination wire will go on with your stalk for the lights, again you will have a main live, earth and several others which only come live when they are switched, just connect it to the wire which is live when dipped beam or side lights are on. I've not got that sensor in my airbox, I believe it's the IAT sensor ( intake air temperature) and when I ran an hks air filter it was never in, It was an n/a engine thou Gary

I work for Toyota mate and ive not seen much mods for 3ZZ or 4ZZ but the 1ZZ has a bolt on turbo kit that a customer has on his MK3 MR2, boosts performance by alot but dont know the full spec, the kit cost £4000 thou. I couldnt say if the 3ZZ and 1ZZ are compatible with mods but there isnt that much difference between them. without research its hard to say. Gary

Yes the slam panel behind the headlights needs cut, I'm sure there is a guide. Someone has definately done it anyway Gary

I do wheel nuts at work to between 100Nm and 110 bit I'm sure toyota specify 103Nm for the starlet Gary

Had a few more problems getting the fiesta running properly, programming the Omex ecu is a bit of a puzzler, but it was running not bad tonight, after the Throttle possition was set and a few other settings. Getting some loud pops and bangs through the throttle bodies though lol. Gary

Update. Fiesta is now been running and is going for MOT asap, a few pics so far. Also just moved the Nova up to the garage, will be started soon Looks like alot of work but its really not that bad, Really mint shell and no rust really. More updates soon Gary
