  1. i read on autodata that it was an interference head, thats why i was so nervous. thanks iddy that makes sense
  2. ok so that shows me were the bottom of the engine is, how do i know if the top of the engine is inline with it? im just nervous of smashin my pistons into the valves.
  3. ok update, so got the engine in and everything plugged up. just want to check, is there anyway of checking the bottom half of the engine is timed up right with the top half without having to remove the crank pulley?(mainly because it wont come off its on there fairly tight and in trying to get it off just concerned it may not be right)
  4. is the 5e starter motor the same or different to the 4e one? struggling to find any sensors on my 5e one. (probably shouldve checked before the engine went in, but he-insights a wonderful thing
  5. ok update on today proceedings: had a bad day today, firstly the weather has been dreadful, went to put up the gazebo i borrowed off my dad, wen i opened the bad it was just a bag of sides :@ proper let down, so had to go buy one. anyway got a gazebo up. then noticed that were the worm drive should go is a digital output, so that delayed us. then when comparing engine mounts noticed 2 were different, so had to change them over however couldnt change one as couldnt get bottom crank pulley off to take the plastic cover off to get to a bolt! so yeh anyway engine is in on 2 engine mounts, ho

  7. you have just explained exactly what i have just done. undoen that bolt, nothing happened, so hit it with a screwdriver and it just chipped a bit off cant see how it will come out
  8. hit an issue when doing my 5e conversion. the 4e uses a worm drive, and the 5e uses a digital sender. ive managed to get the digital sender out of the 5e box, but does anyone know if the worm drive can be removed from the 4e box? i dont wanna just change the hole gearbox as my 4e one is a bit shitty
  9. no yeh your correct, the 5r has a longer stroke, im assuming thats what makes it a 1500cc compared to the 4e's 1300cc

  14. lovin all the hype about the 5e lol be interesting to see what difference it does make so do i remove the charcoal filter or not? opinions?

  16. ryan - it started running on 2 cylinders, and couldnt figure out why mega bad times, so upgrading to a 5e im sure that charcoal filter use to make a wierd buzzin nois onn mine. :S hahaa might take it off then. does it not make a difference to emmisions or anythin?
  17. ok so rehabilitation has begun, started stripping things off the engine ready for removing. also what is the black box under the fuel filter?
