I Finally got my car started yesterday and it was due to the contacts in the distributor cap that were dirty and quite worn down so i am going to be replacing it and while i got it off i may aswell change the rotor arm too but will the cap and arm fit off a uk model 1.3 ep91?? or is it a different part?? cheers starlybruiser (nick)

Well after easter dinner i decided to got out into the cold and remove my Distributor i decided to keep the leads attached save me f**king around unpluging them cuz i can never get them off lol any way i removed it and the 4 points inside were white and there is a slight groove worn into all of them so they didnt really look too good, also the middle terminal was quite badly worn and was black with carbon deposits, so i cleaned all these up and then i looked at the rotor arm and the terminal on there was also black. once it was all cleaned up i re-fitted it and cranked the engine, for a seco

I havent had the car that long, only about a month or so , the battery looks brand new and its got one of them spyglass things on the top to indicate the state of charge which looks very good, its turning over fine but its just not igniting the fuel, its definately getting fuel because you can smell it as your cranking the engine over, its got to be a problem with the ignition system somewhere. i have checked all the lead connections and they seem to be fine so my next plan of attack i think will be the distributor cap, i just really need to get it started for work on tuesday

  6. it turns out my starter motor is working ok, it just sounded a bit different because my car is not firing see i was trying to diagnose this on my own when i really needed someone in the car cranking it while i was outside having a good listen and so on, so i got my mate to crank the car over while the oil cap was off and i could see the cam rotating so this obviously ruled out the starter motor and i thought straight away its got to be ignition related because apparently they are very temprimental?? so i dissconected the ht lead from the spark plug and used a screw driver and put it into the

  8. MY CAR WONT START!! IM SO PI**ED i jusmped in it this morning and it cranked over and started but as soon as i realeased the key it cut out!, then i tried starting it again and the started was spinning but it was spinning as if it was under no load and like the gear had not engaged into the flywheel?? any help in much appreciated could it just be stuck?? cheers starlybruiser
  9. i cant hear it engaging but its spins very fast and i cant hear any whinein??? could it be a bad clutch on the starter??

Not having a good day so far i woke up late this morning after a night at the pub and i was feeling ruff to start with and i had my old saxo booked in for an MOT so i rushed out over to my nans and it wouldnt start so i had to jump start that, then i eventually got to the MOT Station and it failed on brake efficency or some shit like that, so i went back to my house and jumped into my starlet and went to start it, it started but died as soon as it started runnning, i then tried to start it again but the starter motor is just spinning over really fast as if its not engaging into the flywheel?

As Some of you may know i have a completely standard glanza v but i want some more power now so im shortly going to be moding the engine for more power but where exactly should i start?? i know exhaust and induction with a remap is the usual starting point but full systems are well expensive and to be honest my funds are low as it is . any advise on mods that will give a good increase in power but not leave my wallet empty? any help is much appreiciated cheers starlybruiser

  19. I Was recently looking at the de-restricting the boost in 1st and 2nd gear post and im looking for some added performance so i was wondering if this is a good thing to do?? is it safe? and mostly will it damage anything, have many of you done it?? cheers starlybruiser ;)

I recently bought a Hks mushroom filter off ebay for a couple of quid the other day and i recieved it yesterday in the post, the seller stated it was used but has had a new foam filter fitted. when i got it it seemed pretty good condition and the foam was obviously new as it was a nice clean bright yellow. but i have noticed the foam doesnt quite fit, because theres a small gap under the foam and non filtered air could get in through this gap, i was wondering if theres any lip or something missing from the kit?? or is the foam the wrong one? any surgestions? also is the filter surposed to be o

Hi Guys, just a wee question for you, i have noticed a small noise coming from the front O/S wheel area, and its getting annoying, its when i turn left i can hear a plastic scraping noise like the inner arch plastics are loose and they shift to one side when i tun and shift back when i straighten back up?? it only seems to do it every so often and more so when im goin fast?? any ideas if theres anything that can work loose in that area?? i have checked the inner plastics and they all seem firmly in place, any help is greatly appreciated, cheers starlybruiser
