1. Any car is a reliable car if looked after and maintaned appropriately. 2. Parts are easy to find... you have to look in the right places (But i dont expect mr.spanner-monkey from down the street to know how/where to find parts if you were to break down).. 3. Dont insure the car in your mums name... if you cant afford to insure it under your own name then perhaps you should re-consider what car you want. 4. This forum is a sea of information, i learnt so much about these cars its unreal (Just from reading and re-searching). Anything you need to know... im pretty darn sure someone will kno

Narh, i believe its an original sps.. Ryno will know. It must be around 3 years old... at least. I welded nowhere near where the current crack is lol! Il just weld it, heat it a little, relieve some stress. Then start saving for a new manifold. Any one got any recomendations for mani's? Mitch

If thats your driveway to your house... cool. Oh and nice VI. Mitch -
I believe this manifold is one of the original sps manifolds... Ok, what manifolds do people recommend? Mitch
-
Im not fussed about that really, just dont want to pap my engine. I may aswell have a go at welding it again. Mitch

I was afraid someone would say that. Ok, so. If i was to keep it for say a couple months... the crack wouldnt be detrimental to the engine would it? say.. if it blew slightly? Mitch

Hellooo Need advice from someone with experience with there manifolds cracking etc... Basicly ive found a couple cracks... removed it from the car and welded them up... Only, after it had cooled etc i found that the heat stresses had caused it to crack in several other areas... My question is; If this crack ive found a problem? or should i risk it and try re-weld it.. This is the second runner by the way (number 2 cyl) (same crack) The thing thats pissed me off is that its probably worse than the crack i found in the first place! There are also a couple more tiny cracks.. but i dont t

Mini update really. So, ive began the manifold repairs by firstly removing... everything. Ive still got A/C and P/S... so you can imagine how much of a swearing ball ache it was. I thought i was the fucking DON when i removed the charge pipe... what a piss take.. Removing the radiator is a must! Any way, once the charge pipe was removed, the mani un-bolted from the turbo pleasently well. Along with the mani from the head. Also, it was a bit of a ball ache removing the mani with the turbo oil feed in place (un-bolted). but... can be done! Cracksss; You can see the exhaust sealent coming

Ergh, i want it sorting . Im tempted to buy skirts and a doobie rear splitter and have the whole lower section of the car done in the grey colour (like advances). Mitch

In my honest opinion its fucking awfull. I am how ever sorry to hear about his father and im sure that car meens a damn site more to him than our cars to us. But i very much doubt it will be to any ones taste on here... Not forgetting this is a STARLET forum and the styling/modifying tends to derive from the japanese tuning scene.(i bet tonnes of people think that car is the baddest of all bads'.... just not here) With regards to the 'condition' it is in compared to the starlets, then yeah, i wouldnt be suprised, starlets range from 19-12 years old-ish and tend to be imported.. so tend to e
