  1. Welcome to the sale of my immaculate Japanese import Toyota Starlet Glanza V, which I believe to be one of the best condition Glanza's in the country. The only reason the vehicle is for sale is due to lack of use and only covering 470 miles since I had it imported in 2020 and since been in the UK it has been dry stored and never used in the rain or damp conditions.

The car drives flawlessly with no unwanted noises or smoke and the gearbox is extremely smooth.

The car is absolutely immaculate underneath, inside and outside. There is the odd little mark inside from general wear.
The outside is immaculate with not one single mark at all and the finish of the paint work is outstanding.
Underneath is also immaculate (see pictures)

The vehicle was imported completely standard apart from aftermarket wheels and steering wheel and was in excellent condition overall.

Since owning the vehicle thousands has been spent including a full exterior paint job by Phil Bell panel and paint which cost £2900 and was completely stripped down for the paint job. The reason for the paint job was because I'm extremely OCD and a perfectionist (see the pictures at the end for the vehicle when i received it back from paint and when i first bought it at).

I have clear wax oiled the vehicle for long lasting protection (I used clear so it shows that there is nothing to hide underneath) There is absolutely no rust underneath or on the exterior of the vehicle.

The car has been maintained regardless of cost since been in my ownership.
    • 3x oil and filter changes.
    • Gearbox oil change.
    • brake fluid change
    • Cambelt, water pump and oil pump.
    • Fuel filter.
    • Track rod ends, inner tie rods and boots.
    • Handbrake cables.
    • 4 wheel alignment.
    • new OEM clutch.
    • rotor arm, dizzy cap, spark plugs and coil pack.
The vehicle has been very slightly modified since I've owned it but every original part that has been removed has been kept and will be included in the sale (see pictures). Which also includes OEM wind deflectors and brand new Powerflex bushes.

The list of modifications and spec below.
    • Walbro uprated fuel pump.
    • Sytec adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
    • Tuning development 3" cat back exhaust (sounds lovely and not to loud)

  2. Little update.

Fitted a adjustable fuel pressure regulator due to having a small fuelling issue which the FPR has rectified. The fuel pressure has been set at 2.8 bar vac line off and the car now runs a dream! 0E296C46-76D0-41C2-9643-2AAE42AD2018.thumb.jpeg.492f7191f05c55c332c7c931acb0c9cc.jpeg629D6E52-10BD-481E-802E-1A458FAD067A.thumb.jpeg.602e4f8f985e89cbca6b7b31198af672.jpeg

Lovely weather for a blast out this morning… roll on summer 💨

You’re saying it’s ‘impressive’ that I don’t need to know the exact FPR the guy is running - that’s because whatever FPR you run, the pressure changes based on the engine vacuum not the FPR - if someone fits an eBay / faulty / shit FPR that doesn’t alter the fuel pressure correctly based on the engine vacuum and boost - that’s not my problem.

It’s all standard stuff, it doesn’t need to be over complicated.

Talking of ‘impressive’ telling the chap to run 3.6 bar fuel pressure and it’ll make 200bhp is a bigger stab in the dark when you have no idea on his setup.

The stock ECU runs stupidly rich with a CT9 on stock ECU with stock fuel pressure with bolt ons (decat, filter and exhaust) - they run flat 10s on boost, let alone doing that with 3.6 bar fuel pressure, it’s only going to get worse.

This advice is the exact reason why @Patches has called you out above - rightly so too.

Last CT9 turbo car I mapped made 200 bhp at the fly at 1 bar, guess what; it had a stock FPR so the fuel pressure was no where near 3.6 bar - I wonder how that was possible? Oh yes, because the FP doesn’t need to be anywhere near 3.6 bar

Thanks for the input mate. I’ve bought a sytec fuel pressure regulator, I was told that it would be good for the job, would this be the case?

while I’m on sorry for causing abit of a stir 😬

Traditionally you set them with the vac line off so you're setting the true base pressure

Hi rob do you know what is the best pressure for a pretty much standard 4efte with vac line off? Is it the 2.4 bar you stated?

waw great work. how does she feel on that setup.

It goes really well considering I’ve not done any major mods to it, just need to fettle the suspension as it doesn’t fill me with the most confidence on the road yet.

Very clean, nice work!  quite liking the window tints, make it look like front and rear windows are all one piece.

I've always wondered if those 22 pin toyota adapters would actually work, so perhaps I'll get one and give it a try one day

Thanks mate! I wasn’t to sure on the tints tbf, but now it’s fully built back up I couldn’t imagine it without them.

I personally don’t think those ‘eBay’ Toyota adapters would work with your general diagnostic machine unless it had the specific software on for starlets, but I could be wrong. As the only other way you could use it would be in eobd mode which unfortunately wasn’t brought in till 2000

  7. The hunt is finally over, wanted the oem rear strut brace since the day I got the car but never been able to find one that has all the covers. Definitely paid over the odds for it but I just couldn’t resist 😅 it’s in pretty much mint condition other than the markings that can been seen on the nearside cover

  8. Fresh update from the past week or so.
I removed the cam cover in preparation for sending to dean at RW developments for some AN fittings welding up and a catch tank.

Before I sent the cam cover away I decided to the remove the baffle to clean and remove the carbon build and to be quite honest it was fairly clean and did seem like a waste of time. But atleast I could be certain all the metal swarf had been removed after the AN fittings had been welded on. Fairly simple process really, Drill all of the baffle spot welds out to release the cover, then drill the holes about 10mm down and tap the holes out to suit m6 bolts. Then seal the cover back on, lock-tite the bolts in and I also tacked them with the welder for good measure and peace of mind 😂

I have also started to fit my wepr CT9 relocation manifold aswell. Up to now the manifold is fitted with new studs and nuts from tuning developments and the turbo mounted up to the manifold. Currently in the process of rerouting the intercooler pipe work due to the location of the turbo now the old short route pipe will not fit.

  9. Had a shuffle through the stores at work looking at all our old diag equipment to see if we had anything that would communicate with the starlet... I stumbled across this old beast! The launch x431 that has the 22 pin Toyota adapter, proper blast from the past 😂

Needless to say it works perfect with the glanza and can access engine, abs and airbag for fault codes and live data 😃

  10. So I took my car out for the first time in quite awhile and when going over about 5500 rpm it’s hitting what feels like fuel cut but it was absolutely fine before hand. The only thing I’ve changed while it’s been parked up is the fuel pump and fitted the updated walbro 255lph pump.

my question is with fitting an aftermarket fuel pump should I also have fitted a fuel pressure regulator and is this the issue?

    thanks in advance
