  1. Wouldn't have known where to start without the early pm's we exchanged. Thanks again for all your continued help sam😎. Hopefully I'll soon be a member of the 6speed club
  2. Thankyou for the confirmation Sam, any opinion on best/lightest off the shelf flywheel? Not arsed about inertia, I'll have to man up and teach myself some clutch control😂😂
  3. After a glanza inlet cam. Close to Manchester or willing to post will be awesome. Cheers
  4. Evening guys, I'm after a lightened flywheel for am NA Build. From what I've read, the glanza and the NA clutches and flywheels are interchangeable between eachother, as long as you change the full clutch and flywheel kit. Is this correct? I ask as I can only find lightweight flywheels for glanzas. Am I right in assuming no change to the starter motor ect is required? Cheers
  5. It's a no go mate, he's after 200 for it and considering I can just whack a normal Bluetooth in for less than that, I can't justify spending it. I'd rather it be 200 towards coilovers
  6. Hahahha. It's been called many things mate, (rusty, scrap, rusty scrap ect) but never Flash hahah😂😂
  7. Thankyou for that mate, I've messaged the guy. If I can get a cd player in it I'll call that a happy medium. After all, a cd should have a cd, right? Maybe it's been taken out?
  8. Ive not got many to be honest, let me have a dig through and I'll see what I can find. I'll grab you a photo of the tape deck mate no worries! The oem and oem + is something I've come to love because of my boss. He collects Escorts and is so anal about every tiny aspect. I'm not that bad with it yet lol, but I just think the retro original look is cool.
  9. Thankyou mate. Coilovers and other suspension first. Different to all my friends in the car scene, most just want to be low and slow but it ain't my style. Also, not a big fan of reps at all, weather that be wheels or the full car lol😂
  10. I'll have a read through your threads and your profile mate. I'm keeping the tape deck for now and using a tape to aux converter lol😂. One thing that's always confused me is the fact it has a cd button, but when I press it nothing happens haha.
  11. Thankyou mate. Yeah it is. Can look different depending on where the light is. Nice colour to be honest. Did you ever get yiur mini disc player sorted mate? After we had the flip up headunit chat and I figured it was a no go, I've just left the standard one in lol😂
  12. Hey guys. Haven't posted a build thread as there hasn't been much going on really since I bought it, just the basic maintenance(timing belt, full service ect). Its only on 43k. Never failed an MOT yada yada. I've got plans to turn this into my first go-kart, with a big emphasis on doing things properly, not just for the cars sake but to also help further my mechanical knowledge. But, I've recently made the first big change. Wheels and tyres. The wheels are Bridgestone Beats Pro. They're 6x14with 30 something offset. No scrubbing issues. Tyres are Toyo Proxes TR1s, 195/45. I've felt a mass
  13. Cars been on the back burner a few weeks. Had some stuff to sort out family wise and with my apprenticeship. Good news is I'm now level 2 City and guilds qualified with fgas certificate too!

I'm back and motivated. I've recently bought these beats pro. They're a company something to do with bridgestone. They are hopefully going to suit the period correct look I'm going for. Will upload pics on car ASAP. I've wrapped them in toyo proxes tr1, 195/45/14. They're the best tyre I could find in a size that suited.

    Hope everyone's going good!

  14. Yeah, see you get it. The having it how it would have been back then is the cool attractive bit to me. But if its more hassle than it's worth, I may just try and find and old pioneer with a graphic equalizer, they're equally as cool in my opinion lol😂. Thanks for the help, even if sadly it just confirms what I didn't want to hear.
  15. I've got a naughties chavtastic pioneer single din flip out headunit lying around in my garage, don't really even know where it came from lol😂. Can't lie, I think they're really cool and I'm also after being able to connect my phone to the audio, so installing this just makes sence. Has anybody fitted one to an ep91 and could show me how it fits and possibly give me some advice on installation. I can't picture it in my mind. I think id have to sit it low (remove the toyota black area)so it had room to flip up or sit it out proud of the dash which I don't think would look good.
  16. Hello mate, long shot but did you ever find one? Cheers
  17. Hello everyone. My names Callum. Im an apprentice mechanic living in Greater Manchester. My starlet is an R reg, CD model. Its done 41k, never failed an MOT and only 2 owners before me. I'm led to believe an older woman owned it from new until around 2017, when the Enthusiast I bought it off bought it. The kick in the teeth was he explained this one as his "shit one" so it needed to go. The best of his 4 had only done 8k. I travelled on the train to Ipswich, then drove it the 250 something miles home. So far, I've carried out comprehensive service work before starting
  18. Good find yesterday, managed to get a rolla manifold out of an old boys yard near Bolton. We were starting to loose hope of finding even a stripped starlet shell, as everywhere we went kept telling us they cut and export most toyotas. This was the 5th yard we had tried.

My friend Sam Is also a car geek, he's bought a starlet since driving mine. They really do get under your skin! Anyway, this one's going on his car see as I've already got one.

I suppose this is just a little post to say they still exist, don't loose hope! Just gotta put in the leg work.
