went to see a car today, described as "immaculate" it was a bloody dog, been in a serious crash and badly fixed. all the panels were out of alignment. bonnet catch had been welded on, and the weld has since rusted. interior looks like somebody crapped themselves in it and then died and been allowed to liquidise. exterior was manky, the person selling it had made no attempt to clean it at all phoned the number in the paper, got given another number who told me i had to phone another number. so spoke to three people before i got the person with the car. licence plates were "peeling" off f

hmm... odd... Wonder what mine is Just a stab in the dark but is this fluctuation not a case of a dynamometer measuring the HP at the wheels instead of BHP which i believe is measured before any form of engine braking is applied through gears, clutch etc?

I would imagine the odometer is the same, so i see no reason why it wouldn't work, but i'd wait for someone with a definitive answer -
Not to doubt the people who know there turbo's but i found this: "Unlike a dump valve a blowoff valve can be used at multiple boost settings without reconfiguration. Blowoff valves are sometimes incorrectly called dump valves because they serve a similar function, but they are very different solutions to the same problem."

our company car is a renault... its about as good at keeping water out as filter paper. It has been into the garage monthly for 3.5 years and although they keep saying they fixed it it still leaks again. French cars have poor build quality.

But this sort of damage is considered "wear and tear" and the council workers get paid mileage, or get a "company car" for lack of a better word. which either way means they don't pay for the repairs

Cool. i thought it was to vent the gas, but wasn't sure if it made any performance difference. Thanks guys
