  1. 1. Yes 2. only on one side, but we grinded down the lip after to ensure we could tighten the shoes. this is a total mystery. plan to take the drums of on sunday so ill post some pictures, see if anyone's eagle eye can spot a problem
  2. Not much planned just now, a bit short of money. Been putting in the hours to try and get the paintwork up to scratch, the owner before me really did not take care of the car, it's quite badly rusted due to the fact he left the radiator leaking for a long time. screws, bolts and fixtures are all seized. Also got a burst drivers lock cylinder, looks like someone tried to break into it in the past... But a bit of TLC on my part should bring it up to a good standard.
  3. i'd love to come to this, but can't this time. definately next time though. Short on money and short on fuel
  4. Bugger... i was using the information on parkers.co.uk. you made me feel bad now
  5. For the record the colour wasn't my choice...
  6. Now i know the fuel gauge is unreliable but twice, How'd you manage that... My gauge goes down like slow...fast...slow...fast...hits bottom line and keeps going below, i filled it right up from the bottom line once and only managed to put 30 litres in it... its a 45L tank...
  7. Ok here is some pic's of my car. Like i said, pretty much stock. Feel free to ridicule or mock the colour. Mods : Customised induction kit JVC CD/Ipod Player Sony 4" 35W in dash speakers Ferodo Premier Brake Pads and Shoes Xenon Sidelights Plenty of scratches (Previous owner, not careful, AT ALL)
  8. Sounds good bourkey, and your right about how durable they are, mine had a smashed radiator when i got it and it still ran fine till i found it. only difference was the heater seemed to work better, althouth the temperature gauge never went over half way.
  9. Lol, like that. Funny cause its true.
  10. Ah crap its been taken down for some reason.
  11. What the hell would you think as that happened to you...

  13. Trust me, the Micra i drove felt cheap and tacky, was scared that if i tried to put the wipers on it would snap the lever... Although i passed my test in a 1.8 TDI Micra, and that was fun, impossible to stall and good for long straights, great sound.
  14. Sorry to hear bout the crash There is a vectra in a field on that road. I dunno if it is a bad road for crashes but its pretty windy as well. Hope you can get it fixed and back on the road, i'll keep an eye out for it around fife.
  15. Thanks Tintin & Sparky I'll get loads of photo's, can't wait its gonna be ace
  16. yeah teh gray one, he was parked beside me and i was sitting feeling ashamed in my mums micra... its a smart car (not the micra, micra = crap car)
  17. Lol funnily enough i didn't plan to
  18. I am sure i've seen that 200sx in dunfermline... or one that looks exactly the same.
  19. In june i plan to take my starlet on its longest journey since i got it, which will be 1000+ miles. Does anyone have any advice or tips on things i can do to avoid a breakdown en-route? this will be my first long distance drive as i only passed my test a year ago, so hopefully all will go well. Any advice appreciated
  20. Stock Sportif, no mods. 11.7, proven. stopwatch activated and deactivated by passenger, not bat considering the car is pusing 11 years old and the paper time is 11.5, although i hit the rev limit once so i could probably improve on that. Found a good road for it near dalgety bay in fife, 60mph limit, straight and a set of lights at one end.
  21. Corsa's... I cant help but detest them every time i see one. They generally have ridiculous "mods" on them with neds/chavs at the wheels. give me a starlet any day. something thats a little more rare than the common corsa. I read somewhere that a starlet is nicknamed a "corsa killer" anyone else heard this? I'm waffling now...
  22. I'll Post some pictures up tommorow (thursday) the car is stock except for an induction kit, speakers and stereo, and is a horrid colour. ill post tommorow
  23. There is plenty of tension in the cable, yet the shoes still don't grip the drum, you can hear a scraping noise when the handbrake is applied in motion
