looking good bet it will fly when you get that hybrid in, u keeping the stock cat nd manifold?
-
its a common problem with rota grids they didn't make centre caps big enough for the glanza's lol, i rang up and they said they should have some new ones in a couple of weeks
-
oh forgot to say i am investing in some late spec lights not the clear ones but the reflect ones ;)
-
cool cheers people ;)
-
so no leaking pipes nd nothing to worry about?
-
Right thought it was about time i started a thread about my car, so here it goes: i have a black 97 glanza v aka Uma- the black mamba, slowly modding it up this is how it was when i bought it: mega standard, apart from a blitz nur spec exhaust, nd tinted rear windows then i decided to buy some alloys- i know rota grids are well over used now but i still really like them and in my opinion they look good, also slapped on some clear side lights nd chrome indicator bulbs: looking much better me thinks ;) also fiited a autogauge boost gauge and hks mushroom filter. next up to fit: braced d
-
edit: oops double post sorry
-
i have just fitted a hks mushroom filter and got rid of the factory air box, but now when i drive nd come onto boost i can hear the turbo spooling up nd then when i change gear or take my foot of the accelerator i get a bov sound but i am still running the standard re-serc, is this because the hks filter is less restrictive or do i have an air leak somewhere- it seems to hold boost still nd my boost gauge shows a steady 0.5 no creeping or dropping etc. does anybody no why? ;)

-

-
cheers for all the info, nd yeah handling is well under way with some coily's and various bits going on. cant believe i didn't realise a rrfpr was a fuel regulator lol- am in the process of getting rrfpr some gauges and manifold under the hood. what is a safc? are auto gauge, gauges any good? from what i have seen they dont look to bad- a tad budget but any good?
-
well i am slowly gathering bits nd pieces fmic, decat, full system, bov, hks actuator. so if i put the jam fcc on i could just take it like that and get it rr? i dont need any type of fuel controller i notice people have apexi and blitz stuff but dont really no what they are for lol- i no there are boost controllers but i mean the other ones. oh nd hope to run 1bar
-
i had to raise the idle on mine via the intake manifold, but that was because the person before me had lowered it to like 150 for some strange reason. what is at, at the moment is completely normal, i would just leave it.

if your car is red i think black rims would look awesome!

Hi and welcome to the club, obvious few places to look- auto trader, pistonheads, have a look in the for sale section ;) here is a link to a section where a few of your questions on what to look out for have been answered http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2862, but there pretty much like any other car full service history and mot history etc would be good, electrics are pretty sound on glanza's so wouldn't worry to much, with 4k you will be able to find a good condition one.
-
oh ok, thanks for the information, what would i need as a minimum to have my car rolling road, engine management wise- cant really afford an emanage lol edit: just remembered an emanage has a built in fcd, what do other people use to rolling road there cars?
-
i have already seen this one but i herd a few people have done it this way and it hasn't worked plus would the unit not be prone to water damage being open in the engine bay?
-
i have just recently got me a jam fcc/fcd and was wondering what was the best place to wire it up to? some people connect it to the ecu, but some say you should connect it to the map sensor- i looked and cannot for the life of me find the map sensor but i am probably being a spaz lol. also if someone could find me a diagram or a how to on wiring one that would be great- done a search but only came up with connecting it to the map sensor. advice would be most appreciated ;)
-
well it looks like you have some plans in mind then lol, good luck finding a car and with the build
-
welcome to the site, and if your after a replica just get a glanza s as it exactly the same as the glanza v but with no turbo saving you the hassle of buying the complete body kit for a v
-
welcome to the club mate, like the others have said insurance is killer even as a named driver i am 20 and it's only just under a grand 2 years no claims and on my own policy, you could build your self a replica really easy and then when insurance isnt so much of an issue plant a 4efte in there and enjoy a turbo.
