  1. hey welcome to the club. good choice on a glanza buddy there is loads of information and some good traders with lots of goodies on here. get some pics of your v up
  2. well i am really impressed with the apex coilovers the handling has improved 10 fold plus having the 32 way damp adjustability gives you a lot to tune the setup to your liking, but they are new to the starlet market (well used on Subaru's) and i found that the standard brackets to hold the brake line were slightly out so had to get a bit fabricated onto the end just as on full lock it was stretching the lines and would eventually rip them from the bracket, but it doesn't take much to fabricate a tad bit on the end. i got them off ebay for 480 something. i would recommend them really nice coi
  3. give him a pm, i got a order in today but he is not in for the rest on the week.
  4. i would strongly recommend not running 1 bar with a standard manifold you will be putting to much stress on the third runner and end up buggering the piston, it's not long till September so just stay safe its not worth taking the risk just for a bit more boost imo.
  5. thanks si, i must say i am impressed at the quality of the coilovers made a huge difference to the handling! i couldn't believe how bad it handled until i got the coilies on lol plus having the 32 way damp adjustability you can actually get a pretty comfy ride ;)
  6. if you were giving it a blast and it came on, but went after you turned it off could be a thermostat?
  7. lower! it is so much lower in real life looking at the photo's it doesn't seem to low. plus i live round nothing but speed bumps so can't really go any lower ;) nd ebay is my friend lol
  8. Right haven't updated in a while as i have been waiting ages to get my car in the garage to get the coilovers sorted etc, so got rid of my jic magic coilovers and got these instead: Apex gen 2's, really nice set of coilovers they are 32 way damp adjustable, i have them set on there softest setting at the moment because i am a pussy lol ;) but they are pretty dam firm even on the soft setting. put them onto the hardest setting and took it for a spin last night down this road which has about 4 roundabout but the road isnt used that much and it handled amazingly a bit of over steer but it was a
  9. cheers Toby didnt think i would but thought i better ask.
  10. I've just replaced my cat with a new decat and all the studs were pretty much buggered, cant say they would be the same but to be safe i would get new studs for it
  11. i think these personally look awesome! they also come with a candy red lip which could look good to.
  12. I have had my coilovers put on and my local mechanic said now that it's lower there looks like a lot of stress in being put onto the standard drive shaft and asked me if other people put on a shortened drive shaft when lowering there ep91's? do i really need a shorter one? i'm sure if it was a common problem i would have herd or seen on threads of this happening, he also said i might get through wheel bearings more regularly as there is more stress being created as it's lower
  13. well i didnt mean mega cheep i said 'cheepish' i have an autogauge boost gauge it's not the best gauge in the world but i find it to be very accurate and there not to exspensive.
  14. totally agree ^^^ you shouldn't try and up the power of the car without knowing what you are boosting at, definitely get a boost gauge even if its a cheapish one of ebay it will do the trick, then get a hks actuator fitted this way you can adjust your boost using the actuator and see what is boosting at using the boost gauge, if this doesn't even out the loss of power there is a problem somewhere else
  15. boost gauge is easy, under the bonnet you have your vacuum line running to the bov carefully cut that in half- with the boost gauge you should get new vacuum line and a T piece, put the T piece in the line and connect it all together, the new vac line you received will run into the cabin, there is a rubber bung in the fire wall (i used this to run the vac line in) once you have got the line in(this was one of the trickiest parts) just connect that to the back and you should have a complete vacuum pressure- the gauge will read a - something until you actually accelerate and wont pass 0 until y
  16. si is right ^^^^^ but you can get some nice good condition 96/97 glanza's for around 3500-4000 but there are so many 96's about i would want to save for a 98 just to be different plus they hold there price well if it ever came to selling again. gt's are the older models they share exactly the same engine as the glanza but have different shapes. ep82 (gt) http://www7.plala.or.jp/omi/DETA/ep19.jpg ep91 (glanza v) http://www.churchamcars.co.uk/assets/image...84_F_Large.jpeg i tried to find fairly standard examples.
  17. hey buddy welcome to the club! I'm from Hatfield so you are real close to me, i own a glanza nd they are awesome little cars gt are nice but glanza's are better lol in answer to some of your questions you own a jap car so insurance will be easy especially through sky and with your no claims etc. where you get your car serviced would be fine for a glanza, or gt. suppliers wise have a look on here as there are a fair few suppliers on the forum also have a look over on toyotagtturbo.com as they also have a good few there as well. glanzas were only made between 96-99 so the models are al
  18. the hose going over the bov does nothing as i have connected the actuator straight to the turbo, but i thought i would just put it there lol. and my little bit of fabricating lol
  19. small update fitted my hks actuator and hks bov, sounds lovely and now i am boostin just under fuel cut. fitting the actuator was the most time consuming and most pissing annoying thing ever!, getting it all off was the easy part getting it back on was the hard part, i couldn't for the life of me get the air hose back onto the turbo then trying to get the c clip on and off while trying to adjust the actuator was a nightmare- first attempt with the actuator i boosted right over 1bar so then i was back to trying to set it up. got so annoyed fiddling around with the c clip i used the ep82 en
  20. oh right cheers i was going mad thinkin where do i connect this dam hose, nd no i dont want hi/lo boost so now it's sorted, thanks
  21. i'm fitting my hks actuator but where does p8 go to on a ep91 i dont no where the vsv is can anyone help pleeeaaaassssseeeeee? http://www.tercelreference.com/articles/hk...actuator_22.jpg
  22. also does anyone have a greater insight into my jic magic coilovers?, i no a little about them but dont have a big knowledge on japanese parts
  23. cheers mate, cant wait to get it lowered either. thought about spacers, but dont really no where to get them from, had a bit of a poke around but thought if they are going to sort it out i might as well wait.
  24. just need to fit my fmic first, should have it on by nxt weekend then i will get some more pics up
