  1. Its been a while for any updates on this. I bought another toy to play with so some funds were temporarily diverted. Well worth it though Zuboo and fearless also invested in some other toys. I think the count is 4 bikes, 4 four wheel drives and 4 race cars between the three of us. I have future plans of upgrading my brakes for which nothing fits under 14's. Some extra contact patch wouldn't hurt either so If I have to go bigger, why not do it properly? Ordered some Buddyclub P1's in 15x8 +32. Some dunlop 220x565 slicks will be going on these in coming wee
  2. Did these today as well as adding a fire extinguisher and fixing a few little things. JDM Yo! Their actually brighter in person.
  3. Went Racing last night. Lighting was pretty poor but it added an element of danger. Was probably one of the most enjoyable track days Ive ever done. Got some footage but the camera mount twisted half way through the first flying lap. You can see how dark it is on the warm up lap though. The car was extremely competetive. Only a cobra with rediculous money spent on it beat me in my group.
  4. Here's what im looking at running. 15x8 +32 buddyclubs. This is with a 195 tire which seem to sit perfect with std guards and suspension. Bigger tire will require spacers, archs ect. Scroll down to the buddyclub P1's http://austarletclub.com/index.php?/topic/17963-meet-mr-terry-two-tone/
  5. remember later model 4efte's have toothpick rods too so you should use a little more restraint in tuning them. 180hp atw seems to be a good ballpark figure before the ringlands start to fail. Tuning plays a huge part too. Tuning safely on a good ecu and bodging it up with a fcd and rrfpr will give large variants. There has been a lot higher figures but average, reliable power... around 180hp atw. 180atw in Aus is like 300hp in the uk though isnt it? :p
  6. Thanks for the part number. Ill look into them next time the heads off., If your dead keen on a swirl pot, than you can run your walbro as a lift pump in tank. (std fuel tank has a little pot in it too where the pump sits) and then run a big electric to the motor. An 044 will supply more fuel than you will ever need. My problem was no where to mount a surge tank. I ended up running a 500ml ebay tank in the engine bay as I just couldnt find anywhere else outside the car. Big electrics are noisy too. I wrapped a few stubby coolers around mine to quieten it a little.
  7. My walbro 255 maxed out at 270hp at the wheels. We used to run the std in tank pump or the walbro and then mount a second pump in line in the engine bay like a bosch 044. Works very well and never had an issue in drags, street and circuit racing. Also, most swirl pots have the return lines from the rail to them as well as the lift pump feeding them so you would litterly have to max out the flow of your primary pump to bleed your surge tank dry. Dont worry about running different sized pumps. If you do go for a bosch pump, make sure its genuine. Like walbro, the market has een floo
  8. I tripped over my front clip last week, not only hurting myself but tearing my dodgey workmanship to pieces (it was held together with silcone and scrap bit of carbon). I rebuilt it all with proper bolts and nylon threaded nuts to get fitment just right. I also wanted a toms grill but im cheap so I just took a hacksaw to the std one. Wired in a set of 55w driving lights and rewired my tail lights and brake lights. QR is commencing night time street sprints as of this Wednesday Zuboo and I headed out to check out the lighting at the drift event last night and it was very dark. One car spun
  9. You have to fab up brackets and drill a hole through them. Then rivet the locking pin onto the bracket. They are a nightmare to line up but once you know where they are going the rest is pretty easy. For ease of use when their done, it was worth every hour. On a downside, Ive just spent the last 6 hours pulling starlets off Fearless's property and removing my car and Zuboo's while they cleared out his house. Water is rising fast again. 30 year flood my ass. its only been 2 years.
  10. A few small updates. Ive been working on fixing all the little things on the car and the last second bodge jobs that have added up over the years. I think it is finally getting to the 'reliable' stage I removed the front crash bar and some of the chasis rails. Replaced with alloy box frame. New brackets made for radiator, oil cooler and intercooler. New 3" alloy pipework and intercooler inverted for a more direct route. New tow hook fabbed up as well. New ultra racing rear sway bar Rear hatch secured with 1x zeus clip. No more cable ties Front bar fitted with 4x zeus clips. He
  11. I think std starlet is 55mm. Mine is about 70mm. I think im just re-drilling my manifold to suit something common like sr20 or VL commodore. MT 22x8x13. Their on a 5.5 rim so they pull in a lot and are only about 7" wide. Weigh nothing compared to the 20x8" steel rims I used to run though. Im guessing thats where my 3 extra mph came from the past 2 weeks. Only change was the wheels and toms front bar. 60ft could stilluse some improving. The tires have about 8 pass's on them though.
  12. Well Jamboree was interesting. I heading out to willowbank last wednesday for a test and tune night with the new tires and a little less weight. First run went 11.40 @ 127mph. Next run, the car developed a bad misfire and ran an 11.8. Third run the gearbox refused to go into 2nd. After that the throttle got stuck wide open. Further investigation found this. Again..... The screw bent a valve and damaged another seat. I was ready to pull out of jamboree but Zuboo talked me into getting it fixed. I pulled the head off sunday, the head was rebuilt monday and another member M03 express posted me
  13. Yep string. Ive been screwed over by a few dangerous wheel shops so I now do it all myself with string and a camber/castor tool. Takes time but I know its right.
  14. dont have the exact code on me. Its the new suzuki swift blue but I changed the pearl from blue to purple. Looks like im heading out wednesday night for a bit of a test. Hopefully it all holds together. Just need to get the string out and do a wheel allignment tomorrow night.
  15. Thanks for the comments guys. A little bit of progress. We have a big Drag racing event called Jamboree over here on the 22nd/23rd of this month so I decided at the last minute to enter. Thursday with new 22x8x13 slicks fitted up. By harrystarlet at 2012-09-08 By harrystarlet at 2012-09-08 Friday night we through the car on the scales to see how much it had dropped. Not bad at 698kg. By harrystarlet at 2012-09-08 By harrystarlet at 2012-09-08 Spent Saturday morning spray painting. Turned out pretty good for my first time with a spray gun and little prep work. The area was also pret
  16. Coming along nicely mate. Ive backed mine off to 250hp to try and get it to hold together. 570 is mental. What's your best time so far? I still think you should have built a tough auto for it though Cheers Harry PS do bigger burnouts :harhar:
  17. I can update this with some more carnage now. I went racing and lost a screw out of the throttlebody. I guess Im just lucky that way. I misplaced a screw from the throttle body in the second session @ QR But its ok, zuboo found it.. It actually cracked the mountings for the throttle body blade. This arrived from California. Ford Mustang GT 70mm TB fully ported. Head back with new valve and insert. New Downpipe. Ends at the drivers seat. I can still bolt the rest of the system on if I need too. Dropped a few more kgs with this Head back on. Just need to allign the cams and
  18. My moulding skills are still ameature at best. Im going to do the other wing and then maybe doors and the then the trim pieces. The carbon is more for a purpose than looks. Welll thats what I tell people when they say it looks crap Same old MT 20x8x14 slicks Ive always used. Their a bit hard and 1 is almost completely gone but they still work. Im considering buying some new hoosier 22x8x13's though Thanks for the comments guys. Should be back on the circuit on the 20th of this month. The other Vids. 19. The front fender looks pretty bad up close. At a distance its alright though. Ive still only done 1 so it looks a bit wierd. Anyway, I Dyno'd the car @ the gold coast on tuesday until late into the night. Ended up with 242hp @ 18psi on a safe circuit tune. After starting work ridiculously early and not getting any sleep for the last 2 days, I had one of those "f**k it" moments and decided to head to the track as the car was already loaded on the trailer from the dyno. Still in circuit trim we changed tyres @ the track and reeled off pretty consistant 11.4's @ around 122mph before popping the
  20. This was a few years ago down in sydney [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgoWNZ2ZpPQ
  21. well probably should update this. It ran a 12.5 @ 105mph with 185hp on a td04 a couple months ago while at full weight. Ive since switch to a vf34, e85 fuel and gotten a little aggressive with weight. Made some new door skins and installed some lexan. Been experimenting with carbon fiber lately too. Did some trim pieces. Separated and removed entire std loom. Made new loom for starter, alternator and brake lights. Mounter my ecu and cdi and installed new 800g battery. Made some lexan rear qtr's. Look rather stock. Carbon mirrors Got some dry ice to remove the last of the sound de
  22. Looks mental mate. What compression ratio did you end up running? Something high for the methanol? Also, why didnt you go auto? If yours going all out drag than nothing beats a well sorted auto/line locker. Now get back, fill in with meth and take off the wastegate lines
  23. Well thats everything up until now. It starts and runs perfectly. Just need to sort out a slave cylinder for the clutch and free the seized rear brakes and it should be drivable. Then I can run it in and get a tune. Its the same gearbox which im taking a punt on so we'll see how that goes. Still needs a lot of work/money before I hit the track again but it will get there.
  24. The std cluster failed to operate so in came the racepak IQ3 full datalogger Dash It connects directly to the autronic sm4 and logs everything onto a mocro sd card in the middle of the unit. It has a 3axis g meter full gps tracking everything you could ever use on a race track. By far the coolest bit of gear on the car. It does track maping, live up to date lap timing, split sections and displays your predicted best lap. Theres also a world of additional sensors you can run driectly through the dash.
