  1. Cheers guys for the comments UPDATE Been meaning to do a update but finding the time Well back in march I was running out of time and chances to drive the car to get the rest of the running in miles done before my mapping date so I gave the car to KrissyB to finish off the last 450miles ready for Wednesday 19th. He sent me this picture saying I don’t want to give your car back lol! he must be enjoying too much. Wednesday 19th come and krissy drove my car up to me early and because the long drive up to me the engine oil was nice and warm to drop the running in oil out and drop the decent stuff in After loads of discussion on what oil to use chose to run the Millors CFS 10w/40 We then went off to Surrey rolling road to Meet Simon (Jolly Green Monster) to get the main map done arrived there in good time and let the motor cool down then fitted the 550cc injectors ready to go. We then finally got on the dyno and started mapping which started off very well and then we hit a wall and Simon was not seeing a huge jump when upping the boost so we decided to stop and check over a few things to see why it is holding it back as the boost its at should be making another 40-50bhp on this turbo. We checked over a number of things and went through my spec etc and come to two issues of what’s holding it back 1st issue is the exhaust that it goes from 2.5” from turbo to centre then goes into the shitty 2” hks exhaust 2nd issue is that the turbo is meshed and running not filter which is causing a mixture of turbulence and warm air Surrey rolling road is always been heart breaker dyno and always shocked people with results as I know from experience of going to other dyno’s you make more. Here are the dyno results of this day but not the final result ;) Picture before we drove off that evening. Jumped In the car and drove off and little in to the journey home I decided to put my foot down and see what it was like and I’ve got to say I was over the moon and shocked on how responsive and how hard it pulls and thinking to myself this is more than what I need for track and sprint series. At the end of the day it was what it was and when I got home I then phoned Dean at RW-Developments and booked my car in for the 12/4/2014 to have the rest of the exhaust made in 2.5” with some nice extras and custom air intake for turbo. Drove the car a couple of times since the mapping and really enjoying it. Realised now Nurburgring is not far away 1/5/2014 so thought I’ve got to pull my finger out and get my Greddy oil cooler and filter relocation fitted asap so I can get a filter pipe and filter on the turbo. Reason I have not run a filter is due to the custom race tech manifold kit I had made they hadn’t given enough clearance and caused the issue that the turbo intake is too close to the filter. Thursday 3rd of April I decided to have a crack at doing the oil cooler with my mate Vit and get it all bolted up all was going so well till we decided to mount the cooler and test fitted the bumper and the lines where holding the bumper off and I did not want to trim back of bumper and remove the fog light. So I worked out a new route ordered some new line and fittings which then came on Saturday morning and finished the installation and used some heat protecter to stop lines getting damaged under the light etc and tested the bumper fitment and was 100% perfect. We primed over car to get the circulation round the cooler and filter relocation and then fired the car to test for leaks and there were none. Few pics of it all mounted up I also received my fire and mounted that in the car Then this week my turbo elbow turned up and I trimmed one side down and test fitted which all fits now and will get the rest of the intake made up at the weekend by Dean. That’s it for now will update once it’s been back to the dyno for final mapping

  4. Cheers chap I was looking in to black harnesses them gave in to the green Errr around £25-£30 Update Took the car for its first proper drive on sunday drove down to krissybs and clocked up enough miles for its 1st oil change as i arrived to his. So he kindly let me so the oil change on his drive. Then after that thought i take some pics as the weather was good Got to say krissys drive way looked rather Jdm with a selection of a evo7, caged type ra, mk1 GT and my glanza all in white. After the pics we headed off to a friend of ours in maidstone to lend a hand restoring the underside of another P1. But with the miles that day 160miles were covered so this weekend hope to get 500miles on her as mapping date is not to far away.
  5. Thanks chap Thanks phil Thanks its getting there now Thanks Azz. Yes that must be really annoying and buggs you its just little things puts a downer on our builds. Yes was good to hear her running and sounded great Thanks jamie yes will have to catch up in the next couple of weeks Thanks for the kind words Thanks ray ues i look forward to it Thank you glad you enjoyed the read Thanks liam. Yes it is a pain when things do not go together. Yes simon seems a really good guy and am looking forward to the final mapping stages Jellybaby pm coming your way Lol! Ive thought that already Little update after mapping Was found when we were doing the base map that the Lambda sensor was faulty so I had a phone about to Toyota and tuning developments and ended up getting one from them which was delivered Saturday. Wire was a little shorter and did not have the plug on it so chopped plug off and kept the length of wire and soldered them together and all is stock again and just needs to be fitted. I was also awaiting another delivery which I paid extra for a Saturday delivery. This did not show up until Monday I will let the pictures do the talking of what’s In the box J these are the new style type 4 point harnesses today had a small delivery of parts from Toyota set of new grill clips set of new injectors rubbers ready for my Sard 550s

  7. Update Last week got my filter relocation sandwich plate back from Dean all welded up and repaired Had a delivery from toyota some new bonnet rubber clips and scuttle panel clips Collected my rad bracket from the powder coaters last week and got that fitted Saturday night came to sort a few bits out, proper fixings for the intercooler needed to be done, mocked up the oil cooler ready to be fitted after the final map And last of all to sort the turbo filter out well should i say meshed turbo due to the turbo kit being made the turbo intake is 4 mm away from the oil filter which im sad to say im quite disappointed and to me has let my build down a bit and was in too minds to get a new manifold and down pipe made. But once the oil cooler is all connected up i hope to get a silcone hose on and make a air intake with filter, But i am lacking space so back to the drawing board to sort some thing. Thanks to Vit for his help saturday night. Pic that night as we were locking up Monday night came and had to get the bumper on all ready for tuesday ready for its base map. Pic of the car all finally back together Well time had finally come to get the car base mapped and time to starting running in. I decided after alot of thought on who to get to map my car i got highly recommended a mapper from a few friends who have there cars done and also does a friend of mines car in the uk time attack some may of heard of him. Simon Roe (Jolly Green Monster) who drove to my address to do me a base map. 1st up was discussing my build and do various checks before connecting my apexi powerFC and fitting my GT4 map sensor and calibrating it to the ecu. He then got a few settings in the ecu, setting the rpm limit and boost for running in. We then hit the road and got a couple of miles on the car and got a base map done for me to proceed running in. A huge thanks for simon for coming to me and getting this finally going. Would recommend simon to anyone really knows his stuff and is a genuine guy who will help out as much as possable. Also big thanks to krissyb for his help on the car the whole time its been off the road and arranging mapping. Looking forward to driving the car next after not driving it for 16 months i forgot how much ive missed driving this car. Few pics of the bay on day of mapping

  17. Update After getting the hard pipe fuel fitting managed to get round to fitting it after getting to the point of getting to start the car we had a fuel leak on this olive due to not fitting it correctly so had to cut it off and send it back to speedflow and they found the issue and sent me a new fitting Then got it fitted the second time and is all good. Back to the making up the rest of the fuel lines measuring them up and get them to length and get them fitted Then worked on the next part to get the defi oil pressure sensor in somewhere as the fitting I kept buying were the wrong thread so managed to find yet again speedflow helped me out and sent this so went straight out and fitted to make sure. After them issues were sorted made up the catch can breather lines. Next up was to remove the plugs and efi fuse and turn her over making sure we got oil round the engine and through the turbo return. Managed to start her up and get her running and sort the fuel pressure and set the timing up Few pics before we started and a little video of her running. Then decided I did not want the custom coolant header tank so order a new fresh one from Toyota along with the new bracket And proceeded to fit and all looks OEM Next on the list was to get my passenger Recaro seat fitted big thanks to Vit and Japperformance spares for sorting me a custom rail out I then decided to take the scuttle panel off and found it to be like this Gave it a good clean and came out like this and gave the scuttle panel a good clean and put back on While the car been off the road the bonnet had been lent up against the wall and had got damaged one of the corners and bent back and found a dent in the front of the bonnet. A mates brother kindly offered to repair and repaint the bonnet for me and repainted the reverse Jam scoop Got it fitted once done Pushed the car out today while the rain had stopped and took some pictures of the bay Another part I bought from Toyota was the Starlet SR front brake lines to convert the car to Non-ABS which I will do later in the year The oil cooler I bought noticed when going to fit it the sandwich plate had a crack and bit missing where the oil pressure gauge sensor should go, so I have sent this off to RW-developments for dean to sort out. Thats it for now as its booked for a base map on the 18/2/2014 with Jolly green monster and then I can start running in.
  18. Great news shes home. Any chance of more pics of the car in and out
  19. Tim this is coming on well and glad the car went to a good home look forward to seeing this at some track days and having a good look over it.
