Or it could be fuel related, either fuel rail loose, or your running a bit rich, my petrol smell is a bit rich as well but not by much, I think especially after giving it some, your fuel will smell richer. Peace Out Joz

Welcome to UKSC mate! There's so many options open to you its unbelievable... Seeing as its your 1st car, it would be a huge step to go straight to turbo, and a lot of people think that way. Why? lol You would be better off with a lovely n/a, make it more personalised, won't because an atom bomb in tuning or engine related repairs that are associated with a turbo and won't cost u a left nut to insure... and you'll still have fun with a few certain additions thrown in and maybe safer for a few years to get some drivin experience under your belt? Ok, it won't be a cheap road to get an n/a loOking and running top notch, but modifying any car has its ups and downs. So think of what you want mate, street cred? Pah, join the club mate, there's gts/glanzas everywhere, nothing new there, its thanks to the true enthusiasts to stand out from the crowd... Anyway mate, thats not gospel, just another way of thinking about it from my swirly imagination, take with a pinch of salt, but us na guys altho have a lack in engine power, make up for it with great handling potential, individuality and a mirror image of the owner him/herself rather than a generic outlook. You can also get some kickass jdm tuning parts that will fit the n/a too. With a gt/glanza, true, you are all set to go but is it worth it so soon at the start, wont be anything to look forward to after, by then you would have fallen in love with the na.............. have the courage and people wont look down on ya, promise Good luck wit your test, and good luck with your decision. Someone forgot to mention that you need to use your old starlet throttle body, not the one that came with the mani. Also make sure you keep an eye on the fuel rail when reconnecting so its in place properly as it may leak if put back wrong, happened to me Peace Out Joz

Its cool. Its not good to be on ALL the time lol, also its 100% safe mate to move the oil filter, tried and tested! There isnt really a way to minimise the rattling as it comes mainly from the fact you just unbolted the mount that holds the oil filter in place. You could try driving with it how it is with the brace fitted and see how the rattlng is, then try driving with the mount thing bolted back on for extra tightness and that might minimalise it. Tbh its not a big problem and you will get used to it, mine hardly rattles now, use foam mate its goooood!!! Peace Out Joz

James, why didnt you ask me lol ? Strut Brace king here Its soooooooooo simple, undo the mounting bracket on that cylinder thing (fuel filter) which is located just underneath it holding it in place (u can't miss it) with a suitable tool and this will allow it to be moved (keep the bolts just in case), so push it down as far as it can go, and then you will find that you can fit your brace. However the cylinder thing will be tight against it so I recommend putting some material in between like a thin piece of foam or even folded cardboard. This will minimise metal to metal vibration. Also you will find that after removing the cylinder thing's mount, you will get some vibrations or slight rattling, this is normal so dont worry Here's a pic from my exclusive Starlet Archive to show you how it should look: Any other Q's you know who to ask Peace Out Joz

Mine was £38 worth of unadulterated 10K goodness lol, shop around, ebay's not a bad place for these kinda things, make sure u shop around now! Thats if you want a dedicated tacho, the SR Clusters have died down again I think but u never know... Peace Out Joz
