Not worth risking such an expensive engine. Plug and Plays aren't ideal as they all vary with different maps for different setups. Buy a mapable ecu and get it mapped asap!

Stock for Stock. EK9... but considering a Mint GLanza is 3.5-4k and a MINT Ek9 goes well over 7k... The money youd save the Glanza could be made into a better car...
-
DIY with this ECU is not simple.. Even if wired in correctly. The settings/Map on the ecu could stop it from starting!

Starting to go through the 2 big boxes... Majority of the stuff made it here in 1 piece! Little teaser pic... Ill try get posting over weekend. So busy

Yeh, the wastegate was cracked more then my first initial look. I guarantee if you'd have put it on your car (it was already stripped down it would have been absolutely fine to at least try) The cracks weren't large or excessive and didn't leave the wastegate penny parameter... There is also no such thing as a CT9 without shaft play. Brand new or refurb ones have shaft play. It again wasn't excessive and wouldn't worry me even the slightest... Like I said its since gone to another owner. Who is perfectly happy with it, it performs perfect... I apologised for the lateness of responses, but

I have one here... Not local tho.. PM me if your interested.

Horn could be a few things... 1, the wires cane snap off the connectors due to age.. Glanzas have 2 horns so unlikely both have failed... 2, Fuse? Foglight. Majority of owners wire a light up switch into one of the 4 rear lights on the back of a starlet turbo... So much better if your friendly with a tester tho ;)

Ouch. Sorry folks, been so busy yet again! I've unpackaged most of it! Ill do the rest tonight and get it all on here for the world to see!

Partial Refund Sent. To cover the cost of shells... As a Gesture of Good Will... No warranty was offered, and no one else would offer warranty for an engine on here I don't think! However I do feel for you mate. I know what its like being sold something that's not right... Still a bit stunned that it managed a 350mile journey from Scotland without spinning a shell... As I said I've sold 4-5 of these engines now knowing full well they were fully functional... Had no reason to believe otherwise in this case... ------------------------ That ok Jacob?
-
That's wrong.... Seal Ring goes onto Manifold... That's where the seal is needed! Why is the wastegate 10ft away from the manifold?
-
But is it going to be able to drive 350 miles? Not sure... PM On Route....
-
Please post up the shell pics tormoz Jacob... Id like to see the shells first...
-
Surely you can appreciate that an engine doesn't just slightly knock the bottom end shells. As an early warning sign to say they need changing... They run smoothly. Or spin and completely fail and knock like mad... Please send me some pics of the shells, Id like to see them... SO what your wanting from me is the cost of some bottom end shells?
-
If you want to word things like that... I could argue your trying to make me look the cunt saying I've knowingly sold you an engine with a knocking bottom end? You've messaged me a lot mate. sometimes, 5 times a day. What are you expecting me to do for you? Can I see the failure please...? Any pictures of the damage to the crank, the shells. etc Thanks
-
You wanted me to pay for all sorts when you first got in touch 2 months after coming to get the engine... I said the most I would consider is refunding you is for the shells... However.... I still don't get the fact that the shells were knocking... It wouldn't have done 350 miles! No Way... It'd have spat a rod out the crankcase... Didn't smoke. Didn't Misfire. Sold 4-5 4E-FTE's now I know what there prone for and I know the signs... This engine displayed no such signs...
-
You bought a CT9... It had a cracked wastegate. Like every other CT9 in the world... You gave me it back at Japfest and I refunded you and sold it to someone else. Who is boosting and enjoying it just fine with no problems what so ever... I have a picture of the car in Scotland. kidV drove the car back from the top of Scotland... There is no way a engine would make it 350miles+ with a knocking bottom end... To then get a message off you want me to cover funds for a new Cambelt, full service and all this other stuff it needs for peace of mind I feel is a little unfair... Bottom

Been collecting a sizeable load of parts before bringing a box over... Ill be posted up tonight! Lots of goodies! Keep your eyes peeled on this section!

There only a touch smaller then a TD04 on the cold side... TD04 at 1.0 bar do about 220bhp with good settings. Id guess 200-210bhp at the same boost Go look at the power leaderboard if you need any more figures!
-
Ok! Actuator is easy to setup. You want to set it so its not so loose it vibrates and doesn't close the wastegate port. But not so much tension it'll overboost. Generally. It was to be just enough tension to hold the port shut... Then the boost controller increases from there.. Increase the Duty Cycle 5% at a time, doing 3rd or 4th gear pulls. Until you hit your desired boost level (or fuel cut, then back it down until it doesn't hit fuel cut at all) Once that's done. Increase the GAIN. 5% at a time, until the boost doesn't spool any faster... The Gain should never be higher %

The NA Map Sensor is NOT the same as the turbo versions...

195/50/15 Tyres at 7250rpm Limiter... C52 (GT Box): 1st: 38mph 2nd: 63mph 3rd: 92mph 4th: 124mph 5th: 148mph C160 (AE111): 1st: 38mph 2nd: 59mph 3rd: 81mph 4th: 103mph 5th: 132mph 6th: 166mph At 70mph C52 is 3600rpm and the C160 is 3100rpm But I don't know of anyone that's run big power thru one? -
2.8 bar map sensor (1.8bar of boost) is what I used... However, the other option is the GM Sensor... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Proper-GM-3-Bar-Map-Boost-Sensor-Wiring-Plug-Apexi-Power-FC-Motec-/131232497406?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e8e10fefe I very nearly used one of those... Tried and Tested to work with the PFC... Altho saying that if your on PFC, you'll hit the limit of the ignition system at 1.7-1.8bar anyway... If your on a fairly large bine...
