Marines can be expensive mate, setting up especially buying your lighting,skimmer, powerheads,rock,sand, salt, test kits etc before you even think about a fish. In all honesty though its worth it. i run LEDs over my tank, they are much much cheaper to run than t5's or halides and give a nice shimmer effect too. test kits are expensive too, when i started out i just baught a few then added to them week by week. i can lend you some to test your water when you set up tho, got plenty of salt and stuff here too to get you started if

my tanks been running with no skimmer for over 6 months now dosnt seem to be making any affect on my nitrates. the skimmer i ran when i set it up was tiny aswell. so basically its been ran for about a year skimmerless.Wouldnt say they are essential if your lightly stocked. saying that ive just baught a deltec MCE badboy for the new tank im setting up lol glad youve bitten the bullet and jumped into marines greame, i use www.ultimatereef.net a great forum over there and plenty of info, has a good scottish section too which is usefull for finding used equipment and cheap live rock. your gonna

another thing, i cant remember who sold me the engine loom but if your reading this, thanks for cutting the indicators off

hopefully get it running this week if all goes well amjad got the other half of the engine loom in today but there was a wierd problem. Theres only one hole in the bulkhead for the loom. where the other one should be in the middle its just flat, like a barbie :haha: so i had to put it through the other hole and stretch the wires to the middle, but it saves cutting a new hole. got a couple of plugs in the drivers footwell im lost with can anyone help? not the 2 in my hand. the blue one and white ones above it, the wire for the front speaker is connected to them. oh and my wheels should b

a few pics from the other day, i didnt get many tbh: timing belt done! just for reference as i dont know if ive mentioned in this thread, the GT i took the engine from showed just under 70k on the clocks, but it had an mph convertor fitted so ill never know the true milage but its low enough. the car has done 118k kilometers. as i said in an earlier post,on the new cylinder head the service bolt wasnt in place and the cam was out of line, heard it can be a bit of a ball ache but we got it lining back up with an allen key and a screw driver haha easy peasy couple of random pics ^jus

Dont need an engine lift:)) drop it out the bottom. I put my engine in myself last nite with 3 jacks, an axle stand and a block of wood haha!

There 1st gen hybrids wer shit and had lots of issues but the 2nd batch wer alright as far as im aware. I thought u had a hybrid on ures? Any pics of it yet?
