  1. What's the going rate for an 85 now a days?
  2. Thanks for the welcomes folks :-) This place has always been a friendly site! Nah not driving a starlet, changed my car a good few times since I had my starlet although I do miss it. Got a semi sensible car with warranty since I'm semi grown up and on the property ladder lol got a twingo silverstone 133 and a citroen ax. Although always on the look out for other imaginative and interesting ways to spend all my money! Any new ground breaking technical break throughs in the starlet world or is it still emanage ultimate and a td04 to make good reliable power without being silly money?
  3. Not really a new member, was on uksc back in the day, but noticed things have fairly changed since I was last about! Since it's a new start like a phoenix from the flames thought I'd say hello, see what the club is like now a days, what interesting cars are on go and who's still about! So hello folks!
  4. details I got from Martin: Large LCD: PCB board: 98mm x 60mm LCD: 98mm x 39.5mm Small LCD: PCB board: 80mm x 36mm LCD: 70.5mm x 24mm
  5. Mine was £300 but thats with the 3 sensors. I don't think that specific one would but a smaller one most likely would, although I can ask him the dimensions to size it up if you want for the clock bit.
  6. I quite liked my clio although as stated to get decent power gains out of them you're looking at boost. Handle awesome though, just depends what you want from a car really. If you want handling yes deffo, if you want big numbers and don't want to spend the coin then no.
  7. Touch over £300. Sounds quite expensive but it is cheaper than 3 gauges and a lot tidier. Although almost half the cost is the wideband sensor and controller. If I wanted just water temp and boost it would be half that. To put it into perspective of cost, I priced up water temp, boost and wideband gauges and sensors, all AEM items, and the total is £295 delivered from the states. Not including the cost of gauge pods or customs as i know i'd get hit with that as well. So it does work out cheaper I guess in the big picture, marginally. Although it will be alot tidier.
  8. Been speaking to Martin today and he sent me these of my build so far:
  9. Going to be a real proper job if you've taken the it to the proper bare shell. Awesome stuff buddy.
  10. Have a look at one of my threads, it's a 3 gauges on one little screen. Haven't got it yet but might be of interest to you.
  11. I'm hoping to get mine in a week roughly, I will post feedback once I have it and also when it's fitted for all those interested as I can't really say either way just now!
  12. Wideband, water temp and boost. I'm getting the top one but a four line one. Will post feedback one I have it and get it in. I just thought it might be of use to folk as it helps keep things nice and tidy instead of lots of 52mm gauge pods.
  13. Ok cool bud, just wanted to check it was cool as I dinna want to step on anyones toes! The gauges are designed to your likings. Oil temperature, water temperature, oil pressure, boost pressure, EGT, AFR (Wideband Air Fuel Ratio), Volt etc Here are some photos of the LCD based gauges:- Character based LCD: OLED Display: Colour graphic TFT LCD Please note I have nothing to do with them, just I am using them to make up a screen for me.
  14. Actually edited as I'm unsure of if I'm allowed to post this, but for the mods, I've found someone that makes up digital gauges, am I allowed to post pics of them and details? Not prices or anything or a sales pitch but I understand traders need to be traders and it could be seen as advertising so best ask first!
  15. The table covers whether or not there is a uk equivalent. And if there are not, which is the case with the starlets turbos, anything before 31 July 1995 non cat test, anything after cat test. I do agree really about who cares about emissions, but it shouldn't have to be a hassle to find a garage that can test a car PROPERLY according to the rules. (when you have an 82 before 31 July 1995 so should go through on the non cat test yet they keep insisting it needs a cat)
  16. The table tells it all really. Yes some garage don't seem to know the rules and test things wrongly. Although I don't really understand how, it's not hard to understand and how they are allowed to do mot tests if they can't follow the guide set out by the mot standards folks is beyond me.
  17. I've done nights before. Did it for like 5 weeks once in the middle east. Once you get into the swing of things, I much prefer it, although swapping back to and from nights can be a bit tough, although being offshore it's a bit of a different case to being on the beach and working nights.
  18. Only thing you can do is leave her alone a little to get her head round things. Also you should obviously do the same. You have to make her know you're sorry and it was a total freak occurance although since you've been together for so long she should know it was, but don't bombard her to much, but make sure she keeps it in mind if you get me. Sometimes things don't work out though, I know it's hard as we've all been there. If that is the case the sooner you come to terms with it the better. Don't want to sound negative but you have to consider the possibility, as only she can forgive you an
  19. I have a corsa as well as a run about ;) But they are still gay. And it's not cheap, quite thirsty as well. No idea of service costs though, although it's a vxr not a 1.2 lol
