Lets put it this way, i have a xbox and a ps3. I have forza 3 and love it to bits, its just awsome, grahics i admit are nowhere near gt5! I rented GT5 as i thought it may be a bit iffy! Thought it had been hyped up so much so thought i would rent it to see! Now, where do i start, GT5 graphics are AMAZING!!!!! compared to Forza they easily are far superior! However thats understandable, GT5 was realeased AGES after forza so it should be better! Now for the bad points, and there are LOADS!!!!!!!!! GT5 just isn't there with the driving physics, i mean like what the fuck!!!!! One of the snow races i did i didn't even use the flippin brakes and just used the barriers to steer me around the corners and i still managed to win the race by miles and with hardly any damage!!!!! Next what the fuck is up with the menu's? They are all over the place, flippin nightmare to navigate around the place! What is the deal with the premium/standard car setup, like they couldn't be arsed to do half the cars. Glanza for example! Can't change the fucking wheels as its not a premium car, can't have a carbon bonnet also! why not, they sell carbon bonnets for glanza's so why can't i have one in the game! Also why the fuck does the glanza sound like a bag of shit when it starts up???? Me and my mate almost died laughing, he actually filmed it on his phone and plays it back everytime i see him. Sounds like its almost not going to start!!!!!! Why the fuck was it delayed for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long, was hyped up so much and in my eyes is not worth it. Forza 4 will have a release date and guess what, it will be released on that Date! Thats just my views, having played both! I wanted to love GT5, really i do, i never use my ps3 and having GT5 would justify me owning one, however i can't bring myself to buy it Jason

This looks flippin EPIC!!!!!!!

LOL Although that still happens quite a bit Steve. Forgot to add i have a new ECU as well now, just the standard jobby but i have one! Now im really sorry to whoever i bought the ECU from. I can't remember your user name and i have now deleted the text messages so i can't even ask you? The guy was so helpfull and i promised to leave him good feedback but i can't remember your name, I have a huge list of parts that i will be shortly needing if im going to continue working hard. Hopefully crimbo should see me with a bit of money so next week will be fun ordering lots of parts, sort of like another christmas Just been told that Sarah will be working monday and tuesday next week and monday the following week. These are bank holidays so i am off work, but as she is going to work i will go in as well and spend a whole 3 days working on the Demon! Fingers crossed i should have another good update

Thanks Mate Sod viewing this with dial up! Bad enough reading it on broadband, the amount of pics i post up are nuts!!!!!! As Steve has said it will be road legal, needs a IVA test and once approved there are some forms to fill in at my local DVLA office then in theory i just need to wait till they asign me a registration. Little way off of that yet though! I wish i was in Brisbane too! I could pretty much use this every day then, not just the 2 days a year we get sun over here I love the buggy's they use in the ROC, i have a feeling they might be quicker though? Yes! Yes it will Is it me or is there more people viewing this now and taking time to comment on it? Really happy you guys seem to love this build, makes me motivated to finish it and means i must be doing something right. Once again thanks for all the great comments. Jason
-
Thanks Martyn, seem to be more and more people reading this thread now! Not that im complaining i love the comments I wish i had a tree house, maybe when this is done that will be my next project Jason
-
Thanks Mate Really nice to recieve posative comments like this, makes me so motivated! Hopefully will be at JAE but can't promise anything, i will be there but i don't know if the Demon will yet???? Jason

Thanks Mate, problem is its the tiny things that take most of my time. Nearly everthing i buy needs modding in some way to fit, takes ages to do ANYTHING! Dying to hear it start up Thanks Dude Yes once its all done its getting stripped down and sent off to have most of it powdercoated. Frame is going Black and arch's, nosecone, spoiler etc is all going lime green! Was even making the engine sounds and pretending to drive it along! Gears are so notchy, will take some getting used to. LOL guess you are happy then. Has it really been 3 weeks??? Flippin heck how time flies! Going to leave the wiring for the moment as i will get the TGT guys to finish that off later when it goes back there! Next jobs are to fit the thottle cable and finish pedal. Measure for custom braided brake lines, start making the nose cone (HUGE job) etc, may even make the huge wing as that will make me smile! lol Thanks Mate. Its comments like this that make me feel like im doing something right LOL

Thanks dude Right, its finally that time Steve, you ready for this........................ *** Update Time *** Right after getting the gearbox bracket welded up i finally got it fitted and started looking at the gear cables. Then got the bracket on the shifter side welded up ready for the cables. Then after fitting for a few hours with the cables they where finally in. These where a nightmare to fit as they could only really go in one way and i was fighting them the whole time. They still need some extra fittings added around the engine to hold them off of the alternator and keep them secure. shifter side....... gearbox side........ Sat in the Buggy for a bit and i have all 5 gears plus reverse. The gears are very nothchy, precise and you really have to be exact when changing. Bit weird but im sure i will get used to it. Then started looking at the pedal arrangement, alot of faffing about as nothing you buy is a direct fit and needs modifying in some way! First got the mini clutch and brake pedals and started working on them. Cut the original lugs off so they could be moved to their new position. and in there new position. I also wasn't happy with the original welding on the back of the pedals, not something i want to be repairing at a later date when it snaps so i added more weld now. Going to get the pedals powdercoated green when the rest of the parts get sent off. went from this, original welding....... to this, should last now......... Also bought a new clutch pedal clevis but again this needed modding to fit but got there in the end. I also had to re-position the clutch pedal lug as the pedal was not level with the brake clevis parts........ fitted in the pedal box........ Also managed to get the brake light switch fitted in position so when i press the pedal down i will get brake lights, and finally got the pedal spring fitted so the pedals return to their original location when i lift off them. Then came the thottle pedal, i decided to use the Starlet one but modify it to suit. I have worked out i need about 50mm of movement on the thottle body to fully open it so need to work out this on the pedal side. I have started modding it but need to look at option to connect the cable itself. It also wasn't lining up with the other pedals so i have spaced it off the bulkhead by 25mm on a spacer i made. Just need to work out the cable and its all done on the pedal side of things, minus brake cables. All in position................ Exhaust bracket has been finally finished off also, when i orignally made this it was in a different position but didn't work so has had to be remade to suit. welded up....... and fitted in place, another thing crossed off the list........ Then i made some brackets for the battery to be fitted into place. I made them slightly bigger than the battery so if i ever change the battery and its slightly bigger then it should still fit. I just need to add a few bits of foam at the bottom to hold the battery securely in place. welded bracket pieces....... with straps........ and battery added in place, just needs the cover/footrest making now.......... Made a bracket to fit the interior mirror to and got that welded in place, there is surprisingly alot of rearward vision as it sort of looks under the intercooler. Hopefully this will be ok for the IVA test, fins out one day........ all fitted in place........ Finally got round to making the oil catch tank bracket and that was also welded in place.......... fits nicely next to the fuel reg, just needs the breather vent added when i get one....... Then it was all put back together and is currently wrapped up awaiting to be worked on once again. Sorry i didn't update sooner, been so busy the last few weeks. How's that update then? Jason

LOL @ Steve! The player gets played!!!!!

Awsome! I have a proper Burton Snow Deck somewhere in the loft. This has just reminded me about it, need to find that!

Sorry guys not had time to get to a computer recently to update but i will do a biggen in the next few days. We had our Christmas party last night, at a hotel literally NEXT to the workshop so i was here at 8am this morning working on the Demon! I feel like death today, no not the booze as i can't drink anymore cause of the ol heart drugs. Think i may have eaten something bad! I will get this flippin thing finished............................ Update soon, sorry to the people that see i have posted in the thread and then are dissapointed

Thanks dude I remember seing the pics of your bro's buggy, i would love a bike engine but in the end i went for the toyota lump. Bike engines where already being used so i wanted to be different Think we need some better pics of your bro's buggy ;)

I have never heard of a ECU going but it looks like they can go! I did wonder if you had used your car before trying my ECU. I believe there is a problem with the power to the fuel pump part of the ECU! In the Demon it wouldn't even power up my fuel pump. Im guessing as you had just driven yours there was fuel still in the system. So when you tried my ECU it was not powering your fuel pump, it used the fuel that was left in the system and then died after it had run out. I could have had the fuel pump on a seperate switch on the dash and bypast the ECU but if i was in a crash and was knocked out the fuel pump would continue to pump fuel which could be really bad! Obviously if its going through the ECU then the ECU will cut the fuel supply if it detects a crash/something wrong. Jason

*** Small Update *** Well been slowed up this week by the Snow, work was closed on thursday/friday and i couldn't get there to actually work on the buggy anyway. However i managed to get a few things sorted. Firstly i got the exhaust all wrapped up and fitted back onto the buggy. Was a shame to cover up all the welding on the exhaust but its done now. Im still unsure if wrapping the exhaust is the best thing to do! Its close to the fuel tank so in theory should help protect it from the heat. I will be adding a firewall in between the tank and exhaust anyway but the wrap should help deflect a bit of heat. Back on the buggy........ I just need to redo the mounting bracket for the carbon can and thats another thing to tick off the list. I have started welding up the gear cable bracket from the gearbox and after having problems with the welder last week i have managed to get it working again. Didn't get as much done as i wanted to do as i spent a little time sorting the welder but it will get finished this week. not a great pic but you get the idea, the modified washers get welded to the main bracket to accept the new cables..... Last week i also sent my ECU off to Stulet-GTT as he kindly offered to test fit it into his car and see if it would start. After doing this he has confirmed that my ECU is dead! Thats great news as now i can confirm 100% it was the ECU and look at getting a replacement and moving on with the build. I know its not much of an update but its progress Jason ;)
-
Yes i know. For some reason the ECU is not powering the fuel pump at all Don't matter anyway, i know whats wrong and i can move on with the build now ;)
-
Some awsome parts getting put into this project. Really want that Turbo so bad but just don't have the fundage at the moment Keep up the good work Steve, you will be loving it when this is back on the road
-
Or buy tyres that already have white logo's printed on the sides..... Bit dirty but you get the idea........ Jason
-
Just a quick post to say a HUGE thanks to Stulet-GTT He has really helped me out. I had a problem with my wiring and everything pointed to the ECU being dodgy, problem was i needed someone to test fit it for me and he kindly offered to do just that. After sending him my ECU he has test fitted it and confirmed that it is shagged! Great news as now i know exactly what is wrong and can move on with the build! I could not do the Demon project without people like this and this site just has so many awsome members that are willing to help others out like this! Jason

4efte motor user from Malaysia - Updated!!
jason_l replied to qarl_toran55's topic in Welcome New Owners!
Welcome to the club! Always nice to see people putting 4efte's into random things, not that there is anything wrong with the starlet shell of course Jason -
oh yeah, i shat myself! Was quite lucky i didn't stack it, was fun going round the roundabouts in a controlled drift though, there was a yellow M3 that was smashed into one of the signs off of one of the roundabouts and i drifted right round past him. Don't think he was impressed
